Morning guys, saw my pg friend last night she looked so blooming & healthy, and they are so excited. I am so happy for them and cant wait to meet their little bundle of joy. I feel all funny though, jealous? What a horrible thing to say.
Going to have to have big talk with oh about ivf etc soon, he just cant face he/we have a problem, thinks it will happen "when it happens".Compulsive Spendaholic #150 -
Hi guys, I'm still TTC, booooo!
Doctor has referred me for 'Day 21' blood tests to see if hormone levels are as they should be at that time etc. Didn't have AF since November so had to wait and wait....and wait for it to come (after a number of neg hpt's!) so last week it eventually makes an appearance and we can calculate day 21 now.
My cycle seemed to go back to 'normal' (28-30 days) straight away after coming off the pill last June but had nothing since November and I was sitting it out and waiting, doctor said we'll do the day 21 tests but until AF comes we don't know when that is. Also couldn't start the ovulation testing until AF came, so I had a starting point for the cycle. Fingers crossed it's back to normal now but will have to wait and see.
OH has mentioned reading in a magazine about a home tests men can do for sperm count or something along those lines, he can't quite remember, it was to do with male fertility anyway. Does anyone have any experience of these? Where should he get one and are they in any way reliable? How long after ttc will the doctors finally decide to check out the male's bits anyway?0 -

I know how you feel! I can't help feeling the same lately when people I know announce they are pregnant. I AM happy for them, but think a little bit "why not meeeee?"0 -
I know about the jealousy thing, i remember my (now ex) best mate getting pregnant and she hadnt planned it and i was thinking wow a baby-what an amazing thing to have growing inside you! And my sister's had three, my brother's got one....so as i got older and more broody it actually made me jealous sometimes. Im glad i havent got to wait any longer, but i know how you feel. My OH made me wait, where as i would have started ttc sooner!

The doctor suggested to me that we check oh first, as the tests for us girlies can getso invasive, but we were so sure I had something wrong we didnt test his you know what till after my laparoscopy. Hindsight and all that!Compulsive Spendaholic #150

Jiblets.....how did you get on at the docs? Hope everything ok for you.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

Anyway, info about this test - the sample needs to be fresh and kept at body temperature as the sperm die otherwise - so either produce it at the hospital or in the privacy of your own home and rush it to hospital tucked inside your bra (honest!).
Then just hope that they check the sample immediately before it cools down. Iv'e lost count of the men Iv'e heard about (my hubby included) who had to do repeat samples as the hospital staff (can't remember their title, the people who check these samples) let the sample cool down and the sample was useless.....or maybe our local hospital is just naff:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. Apparently our local hospital is notorious for letting them get too cool on a Friday- so the moral of the story is to take the sample on a Monday - ThursdayThe IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -
I ttc for 11 years with PCOS had my ovaries drilled November 2003 got pregnant August 2004 and had baby April 2005.
My hubby also had a dodgy sperm sample immotile sperm but the next one was fine. Keep at it ladies don't get too stressed and relax. Have fun making love not making babies and all will happen soon enough.

Thanks Pokem02, thats really informative.
Am having my day 21 tests in 2 weeks, although my cycle until Nov was 28 days, I only got my next AF this month (nothing Dec/Jan), so unsure as to whether the 21 day tests will show anything if my cycle might still be weird. BUt as you say, I will also request they test my OH too sooner rather than later.
He shouldn't have a problem producing a sample at the hospital or anything, he seems to be able to knock one out anytime, anywhere lol!!0
