Hi All,
I have been TTC for 8 months & still nothing! Find it very heart breaking so reading some of the posts on here have been great!
Just thought it would be easier than this?
x
We were TTC for just over 2 years before I got pregnant, we're only in our early/mid 20s and we don't smoke/not big drinkers/not overweight etc.
I really think it's true what they say, that once you stop stressing and worrying, charting and testing.. it finally happens! Good luck, hope you get your 'BFP' soon xThe £2.00 Coin Savers Club = approx £22.00 :rolleyes: :j.. The 20p Savers Club = £17.80.

Just thought I'd bring this forwards to help any newcomers.... Don't forget to copy and paste if you have any other useful abbreviations to add.
2ww = 2 week wait (between ov and af)
AF = Aunt Flo (Period)
BBT = Basal Body Temperature
BD = "baby dancing"
BFN = Big Fat Negative
BFP = Big Fat Positive (pregnancy test)
CD = cycle day (1st day of AF is the start of a new cycle and is CD1)
CM = Cervical Mucus
CP = Cervical Position (high means ovulation is imminent)
DPO = days past ovulation
EWCM = Egg White Cervical Mucus (The consistency that will stetch between your fingers - ew!)
FSH = follicle stimulating hormone (starts building up during AF to cause follicles to grow on the ovaries and develop eggs)
HPT = home pregnancy test
LH = luteinising hormone (causes the ripest egg to burst out of the follicle - it is a surge in this hormone that ovulation predictors look for, as LH peaks about 12-18hrs before ov)
LP = luteal phase
m/c = miscarriage = loss of a baby in the 1st or 2nd trimester of pg
OPK = ovulation predictor kit
ov = ovulation - the moment the egg (ovum) is released
pg = pregnant
POAS = pee on a stick
tcoyf = "Taking Charge Of Your Fertility", a book by Toni Weschler that's generally considered to be the "TTC Bible". In it, she describes how to track your fertility by temp'ing, checking for EWCM and Cervical Position. See http://www.ovusoft.com/

Hi all,
Hope everyone's ok.
Thanks for everyone's support over last few weeks. It looks as if so many people have experienced problems during pregnancy. Its good to know were're not alone. I'm feeling +ve about things and fine emotionally to try again this month. SHould be ovulating in the next few days.
Butterfly, I know what u mean. I put so much pressure on DH. So unromantic. First month of TTC was awful but now getting better. It does take longer for men to get round to an idea. Hope things will be better next month.
Thanks xxx0 -
Ok, so all month since my last period, my discharge is really quite brown. What does that mean? (minging, sorry!)Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0

I have no idea what it means! So for 2 weeks since your AF you have had constant brown discharge? I sometimes have it for a few days after AF but it is usually only 5-6 days max. The only time Iv'e had it for any length of time was with both my mc's but as you have had a period and it was normal(?) I assume its not that.
I guess its up to you whether you go and see your doctor or you wait for next AF and see if the discharge stops and stays stopped after AF.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hi all.
Hope everyone is doing ok.
AF decided to come a week early for the first time ever! So all my efforts this month were probably out!:mad: I was thinking it may be "implantation bleed" but its def not.
My ovulation kits have arrived so hopefully we can use these and try and pinpoint the magic window.Compulsive Spendaholic #150 -

It's been like it most days (not all) for the two weeks since AF. I happen to be going for a smear tomorrow, so I'll ask the nurse, and also ask her to let me know if anything's a little unusual down there (thinking of the post where the lady said she had a really high cervix, so was advised a particular position for sex). Just thought someone might be able to give me a heads up on what's going on down there....:o
PS my smear was due, and I was advised to get it done sooner than later, as they won't do smears while you're pregnant.Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0 -

Well I hope everything is ok for you and she tells you not to worry about it.
I'm not too sure about the not doing smears whilst you are pregnant. Is that only after you are so far gone? I only say because at the moment I am having a smear every 3 months and my consultant knows we are trying like mad. He knows that every time he does a smear there is a chance I am pregnant but I would only be a couple of weeks gone as he also asks when last AF was.
Also all that aside every woman needs to keep her smears up to date! It can save your life!
Edited to add~ Just done a quick google and it seems a smear test whilst pregnant is normal.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Oh, fair enough - maybe it's just my surgery that's not keen. Yeah, I'm sure everything is fine down below, I've got no other symptoms of anything, and I'm sure the nurse will let me know if it's significant of anything.Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0

Hi jiblets,
My friend had this in the early stages of her pregnancy? Would it be worth u doing a quick test even though you've had your AF? Some women still have AF as normal during pregnancy x0
