Is that just to have a test at the doc's for confirmation? Just wondering as I have got to wait until 22.09.08 until I can go for my booking in appointment

Well they decided to positives on the clear blue digitals was enough - they're "as accurate to be honest" - so he merely confirmed my due date (which clever clogs here had already worked out thanks to the interweb LOL) and highlighted the little do's and don't's and so on. told me to book a "booking in session" with the midwife for the week of 10-18th of Oct which I've done... it's like an hour long!!!!! And he asked me to choose which hospital I wanted to deliver at! - Thought that was a little early but hohum - I picked one ;)

The main reason for going was to discuss my letter about an abnormal smear what arrived yesterday just before I went and bought the tests and confirmed my suspicions ;) As it is there are actually less "not quite normal" cells than there was about 4-5 years ago when I had an abnormal smear. It's just they are referring EVERY one with any not 100% normal smears and so where as a couple of years ago they'd test again in a few months they now scare the pants off us by sending us to specialist clinics... :rotfl:

    Hi everyone,
After 2mths of turmoil Docs have finally managed to remove my IUS so we're finally TTCing (Yey!:T) does anyone have particular tips for me as I have completely irregular cycle? (varies from 24 up to 37 days)
would I be best getting Ov test kit or should I wait a bit?

Hi Sami and welcome to the thread.

Do you know if your cycle is irregular because of the IUS or something else? Cheeky and personal question now**(disclaimer at the end)......are you overweight? I only ask that because I am very overweight and my cycles are pretty much the same as yours....from 27 to 38 days.
When I asked my GP she said the irregular cycles are down to my weight (fat produces male hormone apparently which knocks your cycle for six)
If you are in your weight range for your height please ignore what I just said :D

Having said that Iv'e always been this weight pretty much for the last few years and I have conceived twice so I know its possible.

How old/young are you? If you are in your 20's I'd advise relaxing and trying with no intervention yet. (when I say intervention I mean, temp charting, ov sticks etc)
If you are over 30 then I'd say still try yourself for awhile but if nothing happens in a few months then maybe try temp charting or ov sticks, whatever you feel comfortable with.

** you will soon get used to personal and cheeky questions and plenty of TMI moments on this thread :rotfl:

    Hope I haven't offended you :o

  • Hi Sami! Welcome to the rollercoaster!

I am a newbie too and its nice to know others are only just starting out on the daunting rollercoaster too. I have been off the pill for just over a year now but only just got really determined in my quest!:D

You will get some really good advice from the lovely ladies on here so you are in good hands! May be worth taking some time to read through the thread to pick up some tips and it sure bolsters your confidence when you see the BFPs coming thick and fast.

Good luck on the journey and babydust to everyone.

Glad to hear everything went okay at the docs. When I rang up I was also told that the booking in appointment would last for an hour...seems a long time but I suppose they've got to make sure that everything is covered!

See you on the pg forum!!!!

Well, after a few months of reading this thread I've decided to join in if that's okay!!

Unfortunately time is not on my side as ive just turned 39. I have had the mirena coil in for two years and had it removed but no bleed at all. The thing that worries me is that through reading this site that I cant remember when I last had any CM....let alone the type you all talk about. This now has me worried as to whether im ovulating or not.

If only I knew I was then i'd settle down and let things take their time. As everyone has said its amazing how little you know your own body until you start to analise things.

I already have two children aged 16 and 14 and did fall pregnant two years ago, which was unplanned but i m/c.

  • Morning all, just need to talk to someone. I can't believe how much the whole idea of ttc has taken over my brain! I am usually very sensible and level headed, but now all i can think of is will we get BFP this month?

My OH is great he is happy to get going, but thinks we should wait a few days, but i think i have ov'd already and was hoping to get going earlier this month! Oh well, he is not worried, although has made a few comments about my age (32 until Oct)!

As i said i just can't get over how pre-occupied i am about it all.

Thanks for reading, i will lurk, but am going to try and leave the site alone for a bit, so i can try and relax about it all, and do some work!
