I will not be made to feel guilty for those that are finding it difficult to conceive. God/Science deals your cards! Nothing wrong with asking the question!
Hi Marker,
I don't think anyone was trying to flay you for your question, it's just the case that there are so many of us here that have been desperately, patiently waiting for what seems like a lifetime, that we can't imagine feeling remotely picky about what sex of baby we eventually get.
So many of us are dealing with the hand we have been given. It doesn't make it any easier to deal with the long wait, or as various members of this thread have found, the fact that it may never happen.Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0 -
How far does everyone take their pregnancy safety precautions while they are ttc?
I'm with the too-early-to-think-about-it gang. I'd have been off the drink for a year as yet and I'd be missing out from the relaxation I get from a big night out. It's important to let your body relax! I won't eat anything with raw egg in it during the 2ww though. The things that I think could have a huge effect on baby that are so simple to avoid I guess I do avoid...Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0 -
Hi all i am a lurker on this thread as not currently TTC but like to read about it
Anyway i have been on the contraceptive injection for 5.5yrs now and haven't had a period in all that time (thank god!) but i want to get pregnant in 2010 (ideally anyway) and i have been told it takes at least a year for your periods to get back to normal but obviously the longer you have been on it the longer it takes.
Just wondered if any of you TTC have been on the injection and how long it took your periods to get back to normal?
I am probably going to have 2 more injections which would cover me until April next year and then stop. Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Hello everyone!
I have read through the thread before starting to post and feel like I know you all already!
I am 27 and my DH is 31. I have been off the pill for 13 cycles now but am just consciously starting ttc. I was of the attitude if it happened it happened but it hasn't happened and now I am freaking out a bit. Went to the doctors and he has given me the form for the 21 day blood test and my DH has been to see his doctor to be referred for sperm count. The only problem with the sperm test is that they have about a 3 week wait for an appointment and he is going away to work for 10 weeks so we can't get in before he goes  . It would have been nice to know he was functioning correctly before he went because I can get my tests done while he is away if needs be. Never mind. He has 2 children from before so was ok, just hope he still is! lol.
Its weird being off the pill for so long and not being especially bothered, now that he is going away I desperately want to fall pg. It will make him working away worthwhile because he is doing it to earn more money than he could at home and it would make it have a real purpose. I know it still has a purpose because we can build some savings but I don't know, it would feel better iykwim.
Anyway, its lovely to finally join in and hope we see some BFPs in September - if MFDs theory works we should be due a few!
Good wishes and baby dust to all

Hi All,
Just checking in and to let you know I got my BFP on Friday:j Feeling very lucky it happened so quickly (3rd month ttc). EDD is 8th May.
For the symptom spotters out there - I didn't really have anything that couldn't also be attributed to AF being due, until the day AF was due anyway (Other than I didn't get my usual migraine.) Did suspect for some days though due to triphasic temp.
Can't recommend the book tcoyf highly enough, I think it really helped speed things along. The software (15 day free trial) was also good for me as my temperature timings were a bit erratic and it adjusts for this.
Will probably lurk for a while but good luck and babydust to all.0 -
