I also meant to say that DH didn't have to make an appointment - just turn up with the sample and hand it in at the counter. Maybe different hospitals have different procedures.

Sounds like you have a right dilemma on your hands honeypop! I really hope it all falls into place somehow.

Thanks, unfortunately we have an appointment system as they don't have the lab open all day every day, so they need to make sure you turn up at a time when there is someone there to test the sample, so they have slots available to go. Our closest one was open every Tuesday afternoon but they don't do it now apparently booo.

Yes I've seen it go watery (tmi alert...remembers times of not being able to swallow - too much/wrong consistency/taste etc - and having to use a glass by the bed, and then leaving it there til morning lol...)

:rotfl: - couldn't do that myself, the mere thought makes me gag - that and I'm a veggie and don't eat 'meat'

OH and I are just getting into the swing of things, I think OH is enjoying all this ttc malarky as he has been summonsed to the bedroom twice now :D

    Hi,

I'm in a funny mood tonight. I've felt funny for a couple of days now, and I have sharp stabbing pains in my tummy, that could maybe be implantation pains???

I'm on cd 14, and we've been bd-ing dilligently every 2 or 3 days since af finished, trying the 'tissue trick', and the 'lying on my tummy' trick (I've got one of those opposite-tilted cervixes apparently). I've been tired, a bit nauseaous and rather emotional, in a hormonal sort of way.

    Dare I even hope?

Sorry not to be able to give positive advice but at CD 14 I would imagine the pain to be ov.

Also I haven't heard of implantation pain, spotting yes, but not pain.

I quickly googled implantation pain because your post got me wondering. I found that implantation can occur anywhere from 5-14 days after fertilisation and can cause spotting/bleeding. It didn't mention pain at all (thats not to say it can't happen)
Only thing I found for implantation pain was relating to an ectopic pg.

I've also not heard of implantation pain (only spotting). Could it be ovulation pain (aka mittelschmerz)? would seem more likely given the timing. Implantation pain would mean you ovulated on day 9 or earlier, which I think may just be be feasible, but is really early. Do you normally have short cycles? Did you observe signs of ovulation day 9 or earlier?

May be worth seeing GP, if it is not normal for you and lasting a couple of days? - as could be totally unrelated to ttc.

ppps had a strange urge to tell my mum today but thought better of it, I think best kept a secret untill any news - what do you guys think about mentioning it to people yourselves?

yep. we're keeping it a secret. So far, only me, my husband, my sister, two H&S guys at work, and half my freinds know. :rotfl: (I'm not very good at keeping secrets-- should probably stop trying to pretend like I'm keeping it to ourselves!)

S, who should use tissues to stop the mess getting on the couch rather than keep it all inside! (yes, we're boring!)

Re the comments made on lack of pain with implantation... I can feel when I am ovulating....when the egg is released and when it implants and implantation for me is extremely painful to the extent that I am doubled over for a good minute. I can continue having pains up to 12 weeks when my uterus finally moves forward (it tilts backwards).

Sorry, just catching up on threads so am replying when I read them!

Re telling everybody...I don't bother at all now (for various sad reasons) but also I feel that there is enough pressure to get pregnant between myself and my OH without having people adding inappropriate comments. Then when you are pregnant and worrying about everything, you get additional and inappropriate comments from people. In fact the comments don't stop when you have had the baby so you may as well have some peace and quiet whilst you can!

My last DS, we didn't tell anyone until I was 26 weeks pregnant (and they thought I had just been eating too much!). This time it was 30 weeks. If there is a next time, I won't say a word :lipsrseal

I too can usually know pretty much when I ovulate but with both my pg's I can't say I felt implantation at all. Mind you, I didn't have any pain with both mc's either.
I guess it depends on the woman, we are all so different, anything is possible.
