LOl shelly, don't worry, it was me being lazy with my replies ;)

I have a question, not sure anyone will know the answer though, but here goes. My cervix is lopsided, it tilts the wrong way to normal, will this make any difference you think? Also what the hell is a high cervix? I'm reading another forum that was posted on page one of this thread and I'm learning all the stuff I've avoided wanting to know about all my life, including high cervix's.

    Found this about high cervix...

**A high cervix means that your uterus is placed "high" in the abdominal/pelvic cavity — usually it is suspended just above the vaginal canal. This should not affect your ability to become pregnant, though. The sperm can still travel to the area of the cervix and pass through its opening into the uterus to fertilize the egg.
What it may mean, however, is that pelvic exams can be more difficult because the speculum (the instrument a gynecologist inserts to see the cervix) will not extend far enough into the vagina to reach the cervical opening. This is not a health problem, but it may cause discomfort during pelvic exams from time to time. **

Found this for tilted cervix....Seems like this is advice for forward tilting cervix though, do you know which way your tilts?

**Q. I have always been told that I have a tilted cervix. A friend just told me that she has a tilted cervix and her doctor recommended a particular position ("doggy style") for her to get pregnant, and it worked. Ever heard of this?

    A. Sometimes a tilted cervix makes conception a little more troublesome because the ejaculation doesn't get a direct hit into the cervical opening. If your friend's cervix was tilted forward, doggy-style intercourse could have given her an advantage with the sperm deposit positioning. If your cervix is also tilted in the same fashion, it could be an advantage for you, too. It's worth a try!**

Found these just by googling but I would always advise to ask your own GP because you never know whether to believe all you read on the net :D

LOl sorry Shelly, I have google too, I should use it!!!!
Thanks hunny, I don't quite know which way it tilts, I was told it was unusual when I had a smear years ago, and just that they normally tilt the 'other' way.
DS is prefered anyway, I think I still stand a chance then!

I am looking for some help/encouragement trying to lose weight.:o I Have been told by my doc and some people on here that being overweight can have an effect whilst TTC. So who of you are dieting at the moment? and what are you doing (what exercise, what food you are eating/avoiding) My hubby and I joined then gym but I just use it for the swimming. I feel like nothing is working. I'm now a size 20-22 and need some advice asap

I think myself and any other fellow chubbies need a losing weight whilst TTC club where we can all share tips and ideas and encourage each other.

I dont think the tissue soaks up much, but i'm just puttng it on the outside to save any mess.

Exactly! It's just to stop mess on the sheets/sofa/rug/worktop (delete as appropriate lol) rather than to keep it all inside.

Hi supergirl. Just to put your mind at ease a bit. I have a tilted cervix and bicornuate uterus (shaped like a heart rather than a pear) and am due to give birth to baby number 2 on Thursday  .

It did take us longer to conceive and the whole doggy style thing does appear to be true :o. This was suggested by my mum who is a GP - not a very comfortable conversation .
Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet...

Hi hun, I'm trying to lose weight at the mo (OH sabotaged me last night with pizza :o ), I'm following Weightwatchers - I haven't paid for it, just got the books off my sis. I'm about the same size as you 18-20 depending on style and would dearly love to lose the 5st I gained over the last 3 years :o

This whole ttc malarky has really kick-started me to get into gear and lose the weight :D I haven't been this positive about it since I lost 1 1/2 stone 4 years ago!!

I was told by my fertility doc that to have IVF on NHS I have to lose 3 stones in 6 months.
To be honest this is only my second week so I'm still getting used to doing some excercise. I have been doing 20 mins of brisk walking on the treadmill and just today have done 30 mins of Davinas DVD. I'm going to try and swap around between the treadmill and DVD so I don't get bored.

I can't say I am avoiding any of the foods I used to eat, just eating less of them and maybe lower fat versions. For example....instead of individual trifles I now eat muller light yoghurts. Instead of normal crisps I eat Quavers, baked walkers, golden lights or snack a jacks. Instead of full fat cakes I buy Tesco own brand of low fat cakes or weightwatchers cakes (just as a treat) If I feel hungry between meals (which isn't very often) I snack on fresh fruit or yoghurt. Also I have slim fast shakes, maybe 4-5 a week. They are great for days when I just can't be bothered to eat. I make them last 10 mins, drinking them through a straw and they do fill me up. I usually follow a shake with a piece of fruit or a yoghurt.

I'm going to try this for about a month and if I'm not seeing results I have some tablets I can take that fill you up before a meal so you eat less but still feel full.
Also I have spoken to the Sister at my GP's who runs a weight loss clinic. I might go to that if I find I'm struggling.

Weightwatchers is a very good diet to follow. I lost 3 stones in just over a year on it before but can't go back on it now because for some reason it made me very depressed. I really don't want to go back to that, I want to enjoy it this time so it becomes a positive lifestyle change and hopefully I can keep it off in the future.

Hope that helps and sorry its so long :D
