Shelly, know I should know better, but I'm bit lost with this ovulating thing.
My last AF start date was 3rd July, and I'm a regular 28 day person so due on 31st July.
I usually get the white stuff a week before I'm due on, so this can't be ovulation time (?) isn't it around 14 days? Which would be 17th (thursday).

I'm still feeling like I could come on any second.

Phew, that was a mammoth read... I've read the whole thread (it's taken about a week!).

OH and I have finally decided that we are ttc - it took a while to convince him that he's not too old (38, 39 this week!) - but after me moping about for a while, he caved in!

We were ttc from about July 06-Feb 07 but I had to start having Zoladex injections (I have adenomyosis - part of the endometriosis family) and was in agony every month - couldn't eat as it made me have really bad upset stomachs - I am the only person I know that can lose 6lb during totm! Anyway, I've had enough and the thought of having a baby still hasn't gone away, so here we are again!

My last injection was a couple of weeks ago - although I was nearly 2 weeks late getting it - I'm just about to have another AF any day now - presumably because I was so late getting my jab, so I'm assuming there will be another after the final jab has worn off IYSWIM.

It's been a real insight reading this thread with all the advice and stuff I never knew - I haven't got a clue about my OVs, cycles, CM etc as before the jabs I had a coil, and before that contraceptive pills - all supposedly to help with the pain - I don't think I've had a normal AF since I was 17!

Anyway, as many have said before, I'm going to try and chill out about it all and just enjoy all the BD :D and also try not to stockpile OV and pg tests (very nosy step daughter - can sniff out anything she's not supposed to see within a 10 mile radius!).

Congrats to all that have had BFPs and baby dust to all those still trying (see I'm even picking up the lingo! :rotfl:

I don't know anything really about CM and what it should look like but I found this for you....

    1) Just after your period, there is a dry phase for 3 to 4 days when no mucus is clearly visible
    2) Slowly, with the ovulatory phase approaching, the mucus will start to appear as a white or creamy liquid. If you touch this mucus, it will easily break if you try to stretch it between your fingertips.
    3) As the days progress and your body’s estrogen levels rise, the mucus will get thicker and secrete in more quantities though it may still be creamy
    4) As you approach ovulation the mucus will appear thin and watery like raw egg white. When you stretch it between your fingertips, this mucus may stretch for several inches before breaking
    5) This particular mucus is the time when sperm can easily enter through the cervix and fertilisation may occur
    6) Within a day or so, the egg white mucus may again become creamy or white. This will tell you that the previous day was the peak day when you had the highest chance of getting pregnant.
    7) As your period approaches, your mucus will again become lesser and lesser as well as in appearance

Also on the same page it said... **If you have a 28-day cycle then by day 14, the egg that has matured the most is released from the ovary while the other eggs cease to grow. This is the time when you are ovulating.**

but having quoted that I have heard that women can ov at any time during a cycle, not just on the usual day 14.

    Welcome to the newbies.

Oh has his test results today. We didn't actually get to the docs because she was ill, but we've booked another appointment to go over everything and the receptionist gave us the results on the phone. So everything is "satisfactory". We're assuming this is pretty good and have just celebrated with a pizza. yeay!

Glad you got good news Jiblets.

I really can't wait to get PG. I feel really down at work, and if I wasn't ttc I would probably start looking for another job. I do like my job, but I have recently been transferred to another site and miss the friends that I had. It's also the other end of town and I don't drive, which is causing a bit of stress.

However I do have a good maternity pay scheme, have just taken a pay rise and had always thought I would stay long term. I'm going to stick it out and hope it will get better. If we aren't PG by christmas I may then rethink the plan though. I can't put my life on hold for long.

CD15 of 35 for me and no sign of OV yet.

    Baby dust to all xx

Well I'm trying my hardest to hold out on taking a 2nd test, I have stopped taking the metformin as I can only take them for 7 months or risk infertility... yes, it's weird. Anywho, I've still not come on, so I've promised myself to wait a month before taking the 2nd test if AF hasn't arrived. Well, that's about it for the update this time.

    Happy BDing everyone

Well, all weekend I have been having baby and pregnancy dreams!! One night I woke up having just dreamt that I had done a test and the 2 lines were showing clear s day! The next night I had a beautiful baby boy who I was carrying around everywhere. Then last night again I dreamt I had just found out I was pregnant!

I think maybe I need to try and concentrate on something else to take my mind of TTC as it appears to be taking over somewhat!

thats so werid i dreamt i had a bfp too... hope it comes true this month becoming a bit obessive !!!!

Hi all, thanks so so much for all your lovely comments about my engagement :) We aren't sure of a date just yet. It feels like we all know each other so well on here doesn't it, despite not knowing each other, if that makes sense?!?!......

Jiblets, how typical is that, that your doc was off sick?! Sounds like my kind of luck!

Shelly you make a really good point it is indeed a MYTH that ov occurs on day 14.

I have a regular 28-30 day cycle but Ov is day 16-18 with a 12 day Luteal phase (from ov to AF - this is constant for each individual). Stress/travel can also delay ov even if you normally have a regular cycle (and therefore AF).

The comments on CM are the classic ones, although I think it can vary quite considerably from one person to the next. It will probably take a few cycles to figure out your pattern. tcoyf has a good chapter on this if you want to go into more detail.

Been doing OV test the past 3 months now and tcc for 4 months, my cycle is 23-27 days and I get the right cm around the time I am meant to (as per websites Day 11 onwards) but the problem is I have never has a peak on the OV tests I use (from internet and haveused diff brands each time)
is it possible that even though have th cm and regular cycle that I am not ovulating???:confused:

also can anyone throw any light on if the tissue trick works or is it just soaking it up?? (sorry if TMI:eek: )

    thanks in advance
