    Congrats Helen! What wonderful news.

You lot are panicing me with this tissue talk. To be blunt, after we have BD, I don't need any tissue, because I hold it in. With my muscles. At first I thought, there's great, I've not got to worry about that, then hubby jokingly said "maybe you're squeezing so tight it can't get up there" and he's set me off worrying now. Do you think that squeezing my muscles down there during the BD could be causing a problem? Because I've always automatically squeezed for, you know, getting a good grip....

Jiblets, I don't think that having good pelvic floor muscles = infertility. No matter how hard you squeeze I'm sure it won't stop the swimmers. xx

3-6 months to wait before trying again according to another forum searching-me.

    I would ask your doctor.

    Hi everyone, how's it going?

It's quite a while since I even looked at this board. To be honest, I've felt a bit depressed about the whole ttc thing, and have tried to put it to the back of my mind. There are now several girls in my office who are pg and blossoming. It feels like everyone but me finds it really easy to conceive. I guess I'm not the only one here who feels like that though, so I'm trying to pull myself together.

I'm feeling more buoyed up today than I have done, because OH seems to have got into the idea of ttc, and is well up for making a concerted effort to get me pg this month :rotfl:

Anyway, I just wanted to catch up with peeps, and see who's still around, and who has graduated to the Pregnant thread.

    Congratulations Helen:beer: .

Jiblets, I'm hugely impressed at your muscle control :rotfl:

Sounds like 2 including the 1st to me.
Also sounds like you should be ok as he hasn't told you not to try and you've been given the go ahead.

I know babies arent' money savers but I worked it out I would save around £45 if no periods for 9 months! (to keep this thread about money saving ;)

  • Hey everyone,

I've been a bit of a lurker so thought i'd introduce myself me and hubby are TTC - cycle 1 and are very excited.

I have been reading your posts about to tissue or not to tissue lol and i have done my research on this and have found out that it takes less than 5 minutes for the sperm to get inside the cervix and once they are in there they kinda don't come back out. So there is no need to stay laid down bottom up for longer than this. You apparently have to think of them like salmon swimming up river - they are programmed to do this! Also if the egg is waiting in the fallopian tube and you have sex it takes less than 60 mins for fertilization!
I found this interesting hope it helps someone else!!
    :D
2024 - happy, healthy, quality over quantity, buy nothing new (and 2nd hand only if NEEDED), mindful spending, nurturing myself and family, living for now.

Mortgage @ 31/12/23 £248k - too high, interest rate gone up - want this down asap!
    Debt @ 31/12/23 £16k - no interest - will clear over 5 years hopefully.
Emergency savings £4k - been ransacked over last year - needs attention :-(

5 minutes isn't long enough for me to get pampered though, so i will stick to the 40 minutes as I got a drink and sandwitch brought up for me ;)

He need never know!!! Next time I might even get the vacuuming done if I play this 40 minutes out!

I reckon you're probably right, it'll either happen or it wont but I think the thought of alot of women doing all these 'extras' helps [physchologically], as you feel you've given it your best shot.
