  • Sorry for butting in. Am I mad even considering this?

We have our gorgeous little boy Charlie who is 10.5 months old and OH has suggested we try for another baby! I loved being pregnant with Charlie and didn't even mind the labour (it was horrific but I won't go into that!) but could we/I actually cope with the possibility of 2 babies under 2yrs old. I do want at least one more child maybe a third in time but we've said no more than that otherwise we'd have to move house or a big extension and we want to clear the mortgage asap.

Now AF is making an appearance today but doI stay on the pill for a bit longer, although it probably wouldn't be for long or should I just take the plunge?! I'm starting up as a self-employed childminder and have only just got my regristration certificate but delaying another baby will still affect my business whether it be in 9months or so time for 18months time so I suppose that doesn't matter.

What should I do? Don't want to ask our families opinion as rather keep it to ourselves

Huge Congrats Chickpea and mel!! That's brilliant news, and gives us all hope. Take care, and I hope it all goes well for you both.

Claire, could you come off the pill for the moment and use condoms? It gives you a little time to think it over, but it may feel less like you're "wasting time" because you started letting the hormones out of your system? Not sure if the idea works for you, but it's an option.

Had my day 21 results today, I seem to be fine - I have definately ovulated this month. So hubby is having his test next week. Yeay!

Hi All, Well AF due tom, well sort of late tonight early tom!!!!!

As I said before, i'm not feeling myself and today couldn't bring myself to drink tea, plus feeling naseaus all morning.....so did test at work BFP!!!!!!!!!
Clearblue digi, it came up in unmistakable writing PREGNANT.

I sat shaking for about 5 mins, then pulled myself together and tried to carry on the day without anyone knowing, I thinkI pulled it off???

I am just so worried about miscarrying as my last two pgs miscarried at 7 & 10 wks.

    Good Luck All

I am so pleased for you! :j

Congratulations and best wishes for the coming months :T

Hi Claire, The fact that you posted here in the TTC thread and not elsewhere speaks volumes ;) Loads of people cope with babies right after another (though my mom SWEARS that you need to seperate births by at least 18 months so the older one doesn't feel pushed out of the nest, but you've already passed that point). What reasons do you have to wait to try? (and remember: 25% get pregnant in the first month, 60% in the first 6, 80% in the first year... you may not get a BFP right away...)

If you're worried about money or dealing with 2 tiny ones, take another month's pill. or go off it and try condom/Performa/etc. I'm sure you'll be fine whenever you do start TTC properly again :D

Steph (testing in AM if AF doesn't arrive sooner!!!)

Good luck to you for the morning Steph!

Claire - well I do not claim to be an expert in any way, shape or form, but maybe coming off the pill would be a good idea til you decide what you want to do. As it can take a while to come out of your system you will at least be some way towards that even if you decide to hold off TTC til 6 months or 12 months or however long it takes for you to want to go for it.

I am TTC now after me and H2B had been thinking about it for quite a while, we are only on month 2 of TTC so far but my cycle is way up in the air at the moment as I am only 2 months off the pill. I am wishing I had come off sooner in preparation. I am currently on CD43 with no sign of AF whatsoever, and about 8 BFN's under my belt!

It's totally up to you and OH, of course, but I know what I wished I had done!
  • Charlie hasn't been well over the past week and it turns out he's got tonsilitus (sp?), poor little sod. It probably made me panic about how I would be able to cope if one child was unwell etc

I've had a real think and decided that when AF finishes this month then I won't bother with the pill and just see what happens. I fell pregnant quite quickly the last 2 times but MC one. I came off the pill in July, fell pregnant in Sept, lost 1st attempt in October and fell pregnant again in November. I'm so fertile its scary!!

Thanks to everyone for your advice/comments, I needed someone to tell me we'd cope and its not out of the ordinary to be considering another monster. Maybe I should add myself to the TTC list on pregnancy thread or is that tempting fate?! lol

Thank You all for your kind words.

We have decided to keep it quiet for a few weeks, although I am going to find it really, really hard to. And we are going out to lunch on tuesday with my friend (who is pg) I know I will be dying to tell her, but want to wait until we get the 10-12wk mark.

    Good luck all.
