Sorry to poke my nose in but please remember to take folic acid if you are trying to conceive
Probably you all know that anyway, but just in case someone doesn't or has forgotten :A0 -
Thanks "iggle piggle", I have decided to have a really good go at it over the next few months and just try and suffer the pains, but it makes my oh feel awful if it is hurting me.
just before ovulation. I've heard pre-seed (you can get it off ebay) can help keep the sperm viable. Would that help at all or does your pain start a few days before you actually ovulate?
Good luck and I really hope you can find the least painful way to conceive as soon as possible.0 -
Thanks just checked out pre-seed and might give it a go if it helps sperm to survive longer, the pains usually start before ovulation and gradually get worse as the egg is ripening until the egg bursts from it sack then its absolute agony for 24 hours as the fluid the egg was in is a irritant to some people, sometimes it hurts just to sit down never mind anything else, have tried pain killers but they dont take the pain away that much. Thanks for mentioning pre-seed had never heard of it before.0

Hi naomi234,
I too get these pains and I also get serious pains when the egg implants..which is why I don't need to use pregnancy tests!
If you have sex a couple of days before the egg is released and if possible the day before the egg is released then the sperm will hopefully be waiting in the correct place and although you will still have the pains, you won't need to worry about bedding.
I have heard about sperm surviving up to 5 days but haven't experienced this myself. All my pregnancies have been conceived close to ovulation.
The most important thing to be taking is folic acid although a lot of foods now have it added.
P.S. I have found that post pregnancy the ovulation are less painful.
Good luck,

DH and I are TTC for the 2nd time
With our 2yr old son it took 9 yrs to conceive, I had every test going and all of them came back fineEventually my GP put me on Clomid which didnt work either  After 8yrs of trying I had to go and see my GP as I was showing signs of an ectopic pregnancy (which thankfully I wasnt) when My GP gave me an internal exam she said that I had a really high cervix and this was probably the problem, She advised me to have sex on my fertile days with my legs right in the air (sorry for being so graphic)
We put this into practice and within a month I had conceived, Unfortunatly I had a M/C in Oct 2004 I had a few months without TTC as I was devastated with my loss Started trying again in March 2005 and conceived in April 2005 and gave birth to our little boy in December He was a little early but healthy :T
We started TTC in Oct07 I started my period on the 24th december it was a normal period then I started again on the 8th january and been bleeding sincePart of me wants to go and see my GP but then the other part is frightened incase there is something wrong with me ...Has anyone else suffered from this?

Go and see your GP. It could be something it could be nothing but if its not normal then you need to go and get it sorted.
I had been warned in the past by fertility doctors that stress whilst TTC can make your periods all over the place. Please, go and get checked over.
Best wishes.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hi girls,
I'm looking for some advice again!! I should be ovulating around this time of the month so started using the ovulation tests. Last night there was a very faint line. I tested my urine tonight again expecting a stronger line, but there was no line at all?? Does this mean I'm not ovulating this month?
Thanks xx0
