  • Hi I was trying for about 14 months before i got pregnant with my first. I was on the pill for about 7 years before i stopped taking to try to conceive. I was worried after a year and constantly worried i went to the doctors several times to be told it takes time for the pill to work out of your system and your body to re-adjust. We decided then that we were going to forget about trying and just get on with things and if it happened it happened and we booked a two week holiday to florida for the following september. Lo and behold 4 weeks later i found out i was pregnant and we had to cancel the holiday. Sometimes and believe me not in all cases it may be physicological because we stopped thinking about it constantly as it was taking over our lives and became an obsession. 2 years later we decided to try again and after 4 months of trying i got pregnant with our daughter and this time around we didn't even say the word trying.

However, my brother and his girlfriend are having problems and she is currently taking drugs to make her ovulate and increase fertility shes 33 and is desperate for a baby. We have every part of our body's crossed these work.

I was going to say the same. I had been on the pill of one sort or another for 15 years. My first pregnancy happened within 2 months.

Jsut thought I'll share as well. I do have a 28 day cycle. However, since we started trying, I started charting my BBT (got a set from Boots with notebook and thermometer) and now I know that I ovulate not on day 14 as by textbook, but on day 18. In the first month I started, my temperatures where all over the place, jumping up and down, and I was geting worried tht I am not ovulating when day 14 passed, then 15, etc. But I did get the jump in the end, so was relieved that I am ovulating.
Now it is 4th month of trying, will see how long it will take for us....

Hi there, I'm TTC too. I'm 29 and came off the pill 5 months ago but Just coming to the end of my 1st cycle trying. What does AF stand for? When do you guys start doing pregnancy tests? I've bought a cheap ovulation kit from Wilkinson (£3.99) for my next cycle.
    Good luck everyone!X
