  • Sounds like your area might be about to experience a bit of "gentrification":) and, hopefully, that should help with resolving the problem.

Areas going up do not want anything like that on their doorstep. Time to tap into the neighbourhood grapevine a bit to check out how that gentrification is going/who's who/what's what.

Part of the issue is what you personally are like - eg young attractive female (whoops!), ageing man, etc, etc. Obviously young attractive females will be more concerned than many - in case of possible approaches by punters for instance.

Im a man in my early 30s but im quite naive and innocent minded,

So I always have a nervous smile on and seem a little stranger.

Part of me is laughing a little thinking is that what landlord meant by "I have the perfect property for you"

For £50 a week, I'd live next to a brothel.

If you can't hear it through the walls, there's nothing much to worry about.

One blessing is that the punters arent at all likely to approach you personally then - wrong sex/wrong agegroup/etc to what they are looking for. That's a positive....

I'm hoping PasturesNew (a pretty frequent poster on MSE generally) will come along onto this thread - she has stated she is autistic - but is very well able to express herself and might have some useful advice for you in this situation.

A colleague of mine used to live in a flat above a sauna. Said it helped to keep the heating bills down.
