Those we haven't heard from in a while:
When posting updates, can you please do them in Magenta so it's easy to spot. This thread is all about support, so remember to click thanks on as many posts as you can! It makes us all feel loved.
For those posting on smartphones or tablets the code for magenta is
([ )COLOR="magenta"( ] )your text ( [ )/COLOR ( ] ) (lose the round bracket)
Please let me know if anything needs editing (including the zone you are in) and I will try to keep up. If you would like adding to the lists just let me know what CD day you are (the first day of your period is CD1).
2018 Thread Graduates:0 -
Afoolandhermoney – I told myself I would wait until Weds to test again, as this is when Ovia says to do it. However, I’m CD 28 today which is making me want to test! My cycles have been 31,32,34 and 29 since I started tracking so Ovia has taken the average for AF due as Thurs but really it could be any day this week! I feel that I may start to get my hopes up the longer I wait, despite the fact I have no symptoms so I’m not feeling hopeful anyway I just feel that the BFN will not let me get away with myself and find it harder when AF comes. Gosh our emotions do tease us don’t they! When are you hoping to hold out for before testing?
Selement – I wasn’t sure how the lists were done before as I wasn’t on the thread for very long before FF graduated. I thought that people said when they wanted to move, as they may know or estimate when they are due to ovulate so I’ve just done with that. I have moved you across now
Zeni – the waiting game is a very accurate description… and I suppose it doesn’t change when you graduate as then it’s the waiting game for scans, and the birth!
Munchkin84 – we followed the SPEM plan this cycle, except the very last BD 2 days after OV, and 5 days after OV.
Toots14 – I have had spotting before AF on a couple of cycles, which I ever had when on the pill. It is frustrating as you don’t know what’s going on! Have you done a test?0 -
Ladies,
A bit more of a personal question, have any of you put aside money or savings for when on mat leave?
I’m struggling to work out what my monthly pay would be and what benefits i would be entitled too, working tax credits, child benefit etc how do you know what you’re entitled to?
I’m such a planner I like to have some idea, rather than finding out we are/aren’t entitled to anything further on down the line, I would like to know what out situation would be.

I'm self-employed and wrestling with this at the moment.
Citizens' Advice has some good info. Basically, you will get child benefit regardless of any other earnings. Your maternity pay will depend on what your work offers you - because I'm self-employed, I have to get Maternity Allowance, which is about £140 a week IIRC for up to 39 weeks. Working Tax Credit depends on your earnings I believe - we aren't eligible as we earn too much. I think you can use a calculator on the HMRC website to see if you are entitled.
Re: savings, we've just moved house so they've been depleted, but we have some property that we are planning to sell this year and we should be able to replenish our savings enough in nine months (or however long it takes us to conceive) to manage as luckily my OH's wage cover our bills and essentials. Because I work from home and for myself, I can also probably go back to work a bit earlier than if I was an employee too, which will be helpful for cash flow.0 -
Ladies, I need a slap with a wet fish. Despite being only 7 or 8dpo, I tested with a FRER today because I have felt like crap the last two days - totally exhausted and wiped out. I saw the faintest of faint lines. So faint that I'm prob the only person in the world who can see it. I haven't even showed OH cos he will just roll his eyes at me because IT'S INVISIBLE. But now I can't stop thinking about it. Argh, why did I do it? And why did I test with random middle of day pee after I've been drinking tea and smoothies all day?! I am a lunatic.0

*refuses to slap you with a wet fish, because every TTC’er has been there*
Good luck! Be sure to retest very soon 😀0 -
Celepie you’re not a lunatic, we’ve all been there. I got a feint line the first time I tested when I got pregnant before. The next day I stared at the rest for a good few minute before I used it to be absolutely sure there was nothing there so if I saw anything it was new.
Then the third day I did a digital.
You’re not any more a lunatic than the rest of us x
Fingers crossed for the next test you do0 -
Thank you! I've climbed down from the ceiling now so will just see what the next few days bring x0

Thanks PKK I'll try to remember to say next time I want to be moved.
KatieBee against my better judgement I havent saved... we have a bunch if credit card debt (all 0% interest) and it's hard to justify saving whilst paying that. If we were sensible we'd pay it off before ttc but itd take a couple of years and I don't want to wait that long. They always say if you wait for the perfect time you'll be waiting forever. We are currently overpaying and could pay less if money is tight after we have a baby. I also might try to save some money once I'm pregnant so we can practice being on less money.
I too keep trying to plan possible childcare costs and how much we'll reduce our hours and that sort of thing. I make more money than my husband so probably can't afford for me to drop hours much but I think I'd like to lose a day so I get 1 day at home with child.
Celepie good luck for wheb you rest againyou never know
Finally had a very definately positive opk yesterday so I'm pleased to have something obvious to work with! We haven't been BD much in the days before though, but did on the day of my positive opk at least and ill try to get him later today. Husband had a moan that I originally pitched this was ntnp and I'm taking it all serious. To be fair I escalated to testing opk much faster than I originally intended to. I guess I'm aware I turn 30 this year and I hoped for 2 kids. We're married and bought a house bith of which I wanted to do before kids so why wait now?Trying to lose weight (13.5lb to go)0
