Selement I haven't tried the Ovia app, I'm currently using "Cycles" - that gives you the option of various ways of tracking (temp, OPKs etc) but can also estimate your fertile window based just on averages (that's what I'm using for now). It also adjusts your cycle length (and therefore predicted dates) based on your last few periods. I like that it lets you track PMS symptoms too and highlights when they're likely to start so I'll know when I can test. I use the free version but with the paid one you can add your partner and send him alerts (I think mine would freak out at his phone telling him when to BD though - but he'd probably find the "early warning, buy the missus chocolates and vacate the vicinity" alerts useful!MFiT challenge #60

AF seems to be over, was really heavy got first couple days then tailed off quick (it used to be heavy but not that heavy and take way longer to tail off pre pill). Had no periods on pill. I think everyone is different to coming off pill reactions though.
I have ovia app but without knowing cycle length it'll be hard to work anything out . Before the pill I was a bit irregular, typically 30-35 days (40+ sometimes happened though. Not sure I ever had lower than 29 days). I've estimated 32 days for app but will adjust depending on what happens. Do people find it a good estimator for ovulation? I have some cheap sticks so I could test to see if it matches. The app asks for lots of things like temps, is there a correct way to measure this or just normal thermometer normal under the tongue type of thing? Sorry if that's a stupid question!
I found my periods much worse since off the pill but like you said much quicker so mixed blessing suppose! Ovia is never exact but they usually get my fertile week around right and my cycles they are usually around a day out at most so pretty good.
Congrats Freddie thats lovely news for you and your OH :j
I think I'm now 4DPO not sure what this month bodes as had a huge argument with OH around OV time so while there is a chance I think we're out. The pressure of all this getting a bit much for both of us it seemsI have managed to relax a bit more though thanks for doing the lists Freddie, I think they made me obsess a bit too much... Have had awful OV cramps (I guess?) weds-fri though.. really painful like a period which I've never had that bad before.

Hi all can I be moved to cd17 (think I lost a day somewhere!) and into the tww, my apps thought yesterday was OV but apart from some cramping on Wednesday I've not had any other obvious symptoms.
I've stayed away from ov sticks this month which drove me abit mad as I really wanted to use them but as a whole I feel a lot better as my OH has felt less pressured so we've managed to get a couple of tries in I hope around the right time so I'm a bit more hopeful for this month. Was hoping to get one more go in last night but that was all changed when my OH dad fell down the stairs and has broken his hip and his legso that was the last things on our minds when we finally got home last night!
Glad you're feeling better Zeni, sorry that you got into an arguement around ov time, I was in the exact same position last month and felt awful about it.
Hope everyone else is well x0 -
Can I be updated to CD2. AF arrived yesterday (clearly haven’t got regular since coming off the pill, this time she’s unmistakable though). Did mean I could have some wine last night though - and an probably “safe” for my friend’s leaving do on FridayMFiT challenge #60

I think you're right afoolandhermoney and my body is still getting back to 'normal' after coming off the pill. I was just a little worried it may have been a sign of there being a problem (which is something that concerns me after 15 years on the pill and having never tried to concieve before!). Sorry to hear that AF has turned up but at least you can enjoy a tipple or 5!
According to Ovia my fertile week time has just ended, although at the minute I take it with a pinch of salt as i've haven't been off the pill long enough for my body to have settled into a cycle. I did have the EWCM during this time so thinking it could be about right. We BD once in that time but it was near the start so I'm not hopeful. We just want to take a relaxed approached the first couple of months anyway but I reckon I'll take a little more notice next month!0 -
PrettyKittyKat - sounds like we're in a similar place. 20 years on the pill for me - my whole adult life basically - though I did come off twice in my 20s for a year each time (not TTC though), first I was all over the place, the second break I was regular as clockwork. Hoping that this "proper" period means things are back on track but as you say it will probably take a while to settle down and I'm taking what the app says with a pinch of saltMFiT challenge #60

Hi all. Sorry for being quiet. I think coming to the end of our current treatment plan without success has hit me quite hard.
We were away for the weekend and I think I ov'd yesterday but I forgot my BBT so I'm not entirely sure.
We saw the FS for our follow up this morning. He has advised IVF and to start ASAP if we're going to do it. Earliest would be January so it looks like we'll have to look into borrowing the money if we're going to go for it. I'm so torn though, as it would mean a lot of financial pressure that could take years to pay off and no guarantee of success still. I just want to run away!
Hope everyone is ok. Thanks for the lists Freddie
Hugs for AF afoolandhermoney
Hope the relaxation has paid off this month Zeni
Sorry to hear about your OH dad's fall Dot. Carmps weds sounds like ov was earlier though, so hope you've not missed it.0 -

Slothsocks it sounds like a horrible predicament to be in, and as you say it's not gauranteed to work
I really hope it doesn't get to that stage for you
I do think maybe it was Wednesday, that was cd13, last month it fell on cd15 so could have just been a couple of days earlier. Managed to on the Wednesday and the Saturday (ovia and flo had thought Saturday so at least it was a couple of times in the window. ) I was feeling hopeful a couple of days ago but I'm not feeling it at the moment, I hope I'm not "out" but just don't have a good feeling about it! OH is been great though, said if it's not this month we will just try more next week so I feel like I've turned a corner with that!0
