  • What a lovely surprise, congrats Freddie! :)

    Ooooh Spooney, good luck!

I know it's a real downer when AF shows, stay positive guys!

I've decided to up my intake of vitamins, I'm currently on pregnacare conception but will be adding a high dosage of Vit C & D (to take every other day) and probiotics (daily) - I recently read that these may assist in BFP...I'm happy to try anything and nothing to lose really other than a bit of money lol! x
  • Congratulations FreddieFrugal! What wonderful news. I hope your wife has a healthy and smooth 9 months ahead of her!

Sorry to hear AF turned up Thrift :(. I hope you get your Christmas wish.

We are officially trying now. I know it is very early days and we are taking a relaxed approached at the moment. I have been using Ovia just to try and understand my cycle. In the new year I will probably look at starting to use ovulation sticks as well

It is only my 3rd month since coming off the pill and my last AF was super super light, which I found really strange. Did anyone else have this? My first AF coming off the pill was similar to when I was on it so I didn't expect the 2nd to be so light, in fact I expected it to be heavier! (sorry if TMI).
  • Can I be tentatively marked down as 1DPO please?

Got my positive OPK on Monday, and my ovary pain seems to have finally died down, so keeping my fingers crossed.
  • Congratulations Freddie!
and sorry to hear that Thrift.

PrettyKittyKat - my last AF was also super light (four weeks off the pill) but I'm putting that down to how my pill used to work (no flow at all). I guess your body is just still adjusting if you've only been off for three months?

Can I be updated to a tentative 4 days PO please? upset tum and cramps over the weekend which usually signals mid-cycle for me. I think we've missed our window this month as things have been a bit hectic over the last week, I was shattered all weekend and I've not seen OH since Monday (he's back from working away tomorrow).

AF seems to be over, was really heavy got first couple days then tailed off quick (it used to be heavy but not that heavy and take way longer to tail off pre pill). Had no periods on pill. I think everyone is different to coming off pill reactions though.

I have ovia app but without knowing cycle length it'll be hard to work anything out . Before the pill I was a bit irregular, typically 30-35 days (40+ sometimes happened though. Not sure I ever had lower than 29 days). I've estimated 32 days for app but will adjust depending on what happens. Do people find it a good estimator for ovulation? I have some cheap sticks so I could test to see if it matches. The app asks for lots of things like temps, is there a correct way to measure this or just normal thermometer normal under the tongue type of thing? Sorry if that's a stupid question!

Selement you need a BBT thermometer which is accurate to 2 decimal places - there can be tiny nuances in temp which will show your pattern.
Temping really works well for some and isn't so great for others - I'd recommend giving it a go but it's your call :)

You can take it under your tongue if you don't sleep with your mouth open. I always did vaginal temps as they are more consistent. However you choose, it needs to be taken as soon as you wake up, with as little movement as possible.

    Good luck!!
