  • Welcome Chickenmama and good luck. I am more inclined to agree with Snowscreamer on the wedding advice, enjoy your time for the wedding and then start trying on honeymoon. You sound like you're all prepared so that's a good start.

Munchkin, Sorry about AF. It really does get harder. But massive congratulations on the engagement. We are not married and it's something I want badly but planning a wedding now makes me anxious because of the TTC and not knowing when that will happen. Have you discussed that? Sorry for prying, just intrigued how people do it. I would prefer not to be a pregnant bride which is hard to say when all I really want is to be pregnant and get married so why is combining them an issue for me?

In a predicament now. We definitely will TTC this month if OH is medically ok to do so, but that would mean testing VERY close to xmas. I'd be due on around 16th. I love xmas & don't want testing to put a downer on it. I could always drown my sorrows with alcohol though...

If I don't catch this cycle then my next AF date/are we pregnant is Christmas Day! Not looking forward to that, either will be distraught and having to put on a happy face or thrilled and have to act calm around our family and not touch alcohol! (We won't tell everyone immediately this time)

    Congrats munchkin!!

Rachy I've bizarrely known quite a few pregnant brides and all handled it differently. Some were an accident of course, others were struggling with TTC and it gave them something else to focus on. One friend actually swears it's what got her pregnant because they focussed on the wedding and not TTC so she relaxed a bit.

Some have also just done quick and easy weddings because they just wanted that happy, special day in amongst the struggles - so arranged it in <6m or something like that. I think it depends what you want from the wedding really.

As for Christmas, don't forget baby isn't connected to your blood supply til a couple of weeks on so one bucks fizz to make it easier to hide wouldn't hurt. I did this as we went to a massive wedding 3 days after I got my BFP, so finding that out helped a lot and meant I had a welcome drink and toast drink without prying eyes.

Baby dust to all and fingers crossed for best Christmas presents ever x
Officially Mrs B as of March 2013
TTC since Apr 2015, baby B born March 2017
  • To be honest Rachy, I don't know.
I don't really want wait until after we get married as I have no idea when it'll be but not for at least a year I imagine which will then make me 33, nearly 34 and I worry so much that time is running out.
I know what you mean about not wanting to be a pregnant bride though.
  • Thank you all for your kind messages x

Newthrift, I'll grab the lists for now.... can't promise to do it every single day but will do my best :). Assume you're copying and pasting on a pc and updating the numbers but pls do shout if there any shortcuts

It's a quiet board right now, but hopefully we'll see many new members and BFP's! soon

I'm at 6DPO today. Was waiting for FF to update my chart. OV 4 days earlier than predicted, but BD'd at -2, and O day. Fingers crossed but don't feel too optimistic... yet. Lol. In a few days, I'll be symptom spotting and getting away with myself, lol

    Hope everyone is well today

Welcome chickenmamma, lost of baby dust coming your way, let me know if you want to be added to the lists....

Hotcookie, in my area, you ring the gp receptionist and they will refer you to the midwife team, they then contact you to arrange a 'booking in appt' at 8 weeks, basically a load of forms.

Usually no need to see gp, or even the nurse. Hope that helps.
