Midget fingers firmly crossed for you!! Try and keep positive and do some visualisation of a developing baby in your belly (I found that really helped me in the beginning)

Peppacoin not really sure, possibly late OV (all be it more painful than normal) or any chance it was something like trapped wind?!

Hotcookie it might be worth a test even if it helps put your mind at ease one way or the other. Welcome hope your stay is short and sweet :)

    Thanks :)
I took a test-it hasn't helped AT ALL :rotfl: I used a tesco one (and have never done a preg test before) and think I am imagining a line, I'm not sure if there is a faint line in the plastic, but it really looks like a faint line in the test window. Does it matter that I took it in the afternoon and I've been peeing all morning?
Worst thing is-I work in a job where there are a lot of potential hazards for pregnancy, so you have to announce asap. I'll try again in the morning

Delurking to say, my first test (on day of missed period) first thing in the morning was very faint. Did another 5 days later and the line was as strong as the control line. Am now 9 weeks and still no period; loads of symptoms! Definitely do another, first wee of the day maybe in a couple of days if it was super faint. Tomorrow may not be much different to today.
Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.
Enjoying sending hundreds of pounds a month to savings rather than debt repayment!

If you don't mind using another test tomorrow it will hopefully be stronger with FMU but no guarantee. As Snow says might be better after a few more days, even if you tried Sunday morning instead as the hcg levels should around double every 48hours I think.
My first one was in an evening and it came up quite quick but wasn't really strong but the next morning with FMU was as strong as control line and that was on first response (now 9weeks)

  • Good morning and baby dust to all!

Got my first BFP this morning! Feels a bit unreal so far, and I'm tempted to go and buy a more expensive test to confirm the internet cheapie.

An upvote for SMEP and conceive-plus from us :-)

Cherry! That's great news! Fingers crossed for the next 9 months.
  • Congratulations Cherry Gale. Wishing you a healthy and happy 9 months

I keep failing at SMEP. Had everything planned for this cycle including time away but then I fell ill :(

Sorry that no-one is offering to take over the lists Newthrift, I have never been part of them and sometimes don't read or post on the thread for days so can't offer my own services. If you have to give up then I'm sure someone else will soon take it on if they rely on them. It seems very quiet here lately though... it's all these thread graduates

    Welcome Hotcookie

Thank you people for advice & welcome. I have now taken 3 tests, they all have had a line, although much fainter than the control. I have a clearblue digital one to do in the morning, so I hope that should mean we can believe it!

stupid question though-should I make a dr appt asap? do they do bloods etc to confirm? I'm 38 and anxious about there being problems with the pregnancy :(

Hotcookie just delurking to say ring your docs but it depends on area. Very few will do a blood test - some you need to see them but in others, including our area (Notts) they will just take your details and refer you to.midwife. ask your receptionist what the policy is x
