midget_1907 When they say it's normal, did they actually say what the levels were. Some doctors have a very odd idea of 'normal', one told me a level of 7.2 was 'normal'. As discussed with my Endo it really needs to be between 1-2 to conceive, let alone get periods regular.0

Athens - no need to apologise for having a little rant we all need it time to time, this ttc stuff is hard!! Also it was in no way selfish!!!!! Might be worth speaking to your Dr if you think the medication will assist.
Angel - pleased that you have an appointment through. I can't imagine how scary it must be but at the same time thankful that things are moving forward
Freshstart - sorry nothing either way, it's awful being in limbo. Fingers crossed something happens soon.
I was tempted to start OPK'ing from today as CD10 but I might hold off another couple of days as even MyDays app doesn't predicted fertile period until mid next week and it's usually not far out (based on CM). I'm thinking of trying to test around lunchtime as it suggests a similar time each day and this is easiest, does that sound about right? Oooo new dimension of ttc...Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Hey Newthrift
I started Day 10 because it is recommended in the sperm meets egg plan and I followed that when I got pregnant last time. I have had a positive on that day before but usually for me it is Day 12/13. I got my positive yesterday on Day 13 and my CM seems to fit in well. I'm feeling positive we're doing everything right (although OH away tomorrow and Tuesday so that means the SMEP is impossible to follow to the letter).
The best time is afternoon, I usually do it between 4-6 pm
I also wanted to add that all the apps point my fertile window as different and so I go off the OPK and CM alone and try not to take notice of the apps anymore. I put all my data into one app last week and my window is pretty much the full week!!0 -
Hey newthrift just popping in
As Rachy says SMEP suggests Day 10 but we did SMEP too with my long cycles and essentially what it means is start testing 4 days before approximately when you might ovulate, so for a 28 day cycle where ov is normally SOMEWHERE around day 14 day 10 is right, but with my cycles I normally ov'd around day 20-25, so I started OPKs from day 18. Some months that meant I did 10 days of them, other months only 3 or 4.
Worked for me though - if you've got cheapies it's easy to just start as early as you want, with Clearblue I did every other day until I got a flashing smiley then did every dayOfficially Mrs B as of March 2013

That's interesting - I just assumed do it first thing, same as a pg test. That's what I did last month anyway. Going to try every other day this month, as tracking app was quite accurate last month, confirmation only.0 -

Taken from FF website:
Follow the manufacturer's instructions about the time to take your OPK. First morning urine is usually not the best for OPKs since your LH surge usually begins in early morning when you are still sleeping and may not be apparent in your first morning urine. If you test in the early morning, you may miss your surge entirely since LH levels may already be reduced by the next morning. Late morning or early afternoon is usually best unless the instructions suggest otherwise.0 -
Ah, thanks. Although I suppose it depends what they call early - most days I'm not up until about 8/8:30 so maybe I got away with it last month. My fertile period seems to last a full week, so not too much danger of missing it. Also, using CB OPKs at the moment.0

Thanks all
I'm going with early evening when I'm back home from work and see how I go. My app suggests my fertile time starts Thursday and it's not normally miles out (based on cm) so I'm starting testing and just going to see how I go.
