Morning all,
I am on day 10 and am considering using OPK, I've never used them before so I was wondering if I am right to start testing today? What do the tests show? Sorry if I sound dumb but I've never thought about using them.
Thanks xx0 -
Hey butterfly. How long are your cycles? Cheapie opks will just show a positive when youre having your LH surge which means you're likely to ovulate in the next 24-48 hours. A positive must have the test line darker than the control. Digital ones are a bit simpler to understand and give you fertile days leading up to the LH surge as well as letting you know the surge itself, but are expensive. Just means you can time BD really well and know when you can have a break after! !
Unfortunately though they can't prove for definite that you did ovulate, but if you get a positive it's very likely :-)
Oh and you should start testing a few days before you think you will ovulate - so if you have 28 day cycles and ov around day 14 then day 10 is perfect, but if you have longer or shorter you should adjust accordingly (eg I didn't stay til day 18 ish as my cycles were 30+ days).Officially Mrs B as of March 2013

Hi Sleines welcome to the thread. I had my 1st period 8 weeks after coming off the pill, a few longer cycles after that, but then pretty regular. I did find that my pms did change quite a bit though. Everyone is different though. A nice pamper evening sounds like a really good idea.0

Sorry to hear that Millie.
I'm CD8 after I did get a very light period last week- first since getting the implant removed. It was only 3 days long, and much lighter than pre-implant, but I'm happy that at least something seems to be happening after reading lots of horror stories of women going months. I still feel fatigued and a bit up and down in mood, but I think that's improving- again seems normal after implant. I guess now we'll have to see whether I can get a regular cycle again. Obviously got no ideas when/ if I'll ov as don't know how long my cycle will be, so it will just be random for now!
