No posters shouldnt be aware of the can of worms others make of threads. There is not rules which say in your op please post every single detail down to your shoe size incase the mse Colombos find inconsistency with your previous posts.

Folk coming on here are posting problems asking for help, they might not put all info in the first post, perfectly understandable, then when they give more info the mse dectectives more interested in feeding their own ego by proclaiming motives that aren't there or saying they would never do x y or z jump all over them.

In this case "I wouldnt spend 10k on cameras" or "I wouldnt lose something in a emotional house move."

Life isnt perfect thats why folk find themselves needing help and advice.

That wasn't what I meant by can of worms. It is a strange story, and whilst perfectly plausible, it's understandable that some people have questions.

I wouldn't spend £10k on a camera, but that's irrelevant as the OP has done so.

As for not losing something - it's just that, lost. But it is strange that you wouldn't think about something so expensive for 6 months.

I think that the OP should be aware of the realities, ie that the police will not be visiting her exes home and searching top to bottom. There's a good likelihood that no police will enter the home at all, or even make contact with him.

As I previously said, it's his property and he doesn't have to let anyone in. Not even the police.

I have opinions on this case, but not really relevant.

OP you might find that the insurers class all that kit as '1 item' and therefore won't pay out.

Comparable might be expensive dishes and cutlery. Individually not over the limit, but as a set they are.

No they won't - all that is required is that they were correctly notified to the insurers if each, or any, of the individual components were above the limit for which items must be separately declared.

If the equipment was sold as single items then that is how they will be insured. The fact that they can be used in conjunction with each other is irrelevant.

Quoted for truth. Far too many people playing amateur detective, "reading between the lines", making assumptions, trawling people's posting history and so on around here.

It seems that if someone comes here for help, one should attempt to find inconsistencies in the post, accuse them of things they haven't done, question their past decisions, describe their behaviour as strange etc etc, because that's what people asking for help need, to have their request picked to pieces and criticized rather than actually offering constructive help.

Some will dress this up as "straight talking", "telling it like it is", etc, which all mean "I'm being rude because it makes me feel superior and allows me to forget my own inadequacies for a while ." It is entirely possible to offer advice in a constructive and friendly manner, many it seems would prefer not to :( .

But sometimes information that is 'between the lines' or given on other threads will affect the advice given; sometimes the consequences of someone accepting the wrong advice can be serious (e,g, involving the police) so it is quite reasonable to dig a bit further than the first post.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

Not the way it's usually used on her redpete
Much more usual to look at prior posting history to hit the poster over the head.
