I didn't presume she's guilty, I said the police would be failing in their duty to not investigate the possibility.
Why are you genderising the argument? I didn't say that this was because she's a woman, she just happens to be female. Male or female the advice would be the same.
Re your first paragraph....yes, I totally agree, of course they would. Surely that's a given though, and I'm sure the police know their job. Just the way you worded it, as in "something doesn't add up".
Re your second paragraph....just the impression I get from both this thread and others....sadly.
Anyhow, I'm not here to argue or debate the whole ins and outs. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough if the OP comes back with an update.0 -

1: Well it doesn't add up. She has few belongings, presumably this £5,000 bit of kit is one of the most expensive. She's leaving someone who's bad with money and has loads of debts, to her included. Surely the first thing you check is that the expensive items have been returned? It was worded as a warning to the OP, that was that to be the case, the police would find out.
2: I cant be held accountable to how you perceive things, that's just your personality. To clarify I have no Gender Agenda, male or female the advice would be the same.0 -
Any proof you paid for the items?
When people say stuff like ''there's £5000 worth of x'' the true value is nowhere near that.
If you can't prove he has sold them or even has them I'm afraid you've only yourself to blame for leaving them.0 -
Decent camera equipment holds its value very well, especially glass.burlington6 wrote: »When people say stuff like ''there's £5000 worth of x'' the true value is nowhere near that.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -

That's why I asked if there was any proof of purchase.
If she paid £5000, it isn't worth that now.0 -
To be honest it's irrelevant what it's worth.
The ex husband wont have kept it for sentimental reasons
there's a number of options:
1: OP is pulling a scam
2: Husband sold the kit
3: It's in a box somewhere
4: It's just lost, as sometimes happens0 -
This was my first thought as well, especially considering OP later postedWell it doesn't add up. She has few belongings, presumably this £5,000 bit of kit is one of the most expensive. If there were an expensive item/s, particularly ones I "needed" I would have taken them with me when I left or at least checked they were there before leaving when collecting the remaining possessions laterEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
am I the only one thinking this?..
OP was living in a rental property with her husband, her name not on the lease and has left him high and dry to pay the rent on his own.
I'd consider myself lucky i'm not paying half the bills still...0 -

It's just a forum. I normally scroll past when someone's baiting or if there's a big argument going on. Unless it's particularly funny or entertaining, as sometimes happens..0 -
