Anyway I'm not here to debate MY relationship, I'm trying to say that violence is NOT OK, BUT SOMETIMES THINGS HAPPEN and it doesn't make you a violent person overall and just because she hit him ONE time, DOES NOT mean that she is a threat to their daughter!

Rape is a different case altogether imo, It's like saying 'Ok, I only murdered one person and I won't do it again...'

Rape 1 person once and you are a rapist
Steal once and you are a thief
And be violent once and you are violent.

You think it's ok because it's only once, though in your case it's multiple times, but the law, and by proxy society, disagree

If you remove her current outlet for her anger over the difficult birth that only leaves the child to blame.

I fear this marriage is over. Any plans for the future should be around this undeniable fact, and focus on the best interests of the poor child.

A professional, or counsellor would appear to be required here.....
