When I saw the title of your last post I thought 'crikey, that went quick' :rotfl:.

Just wanted to pop in and say hello and thank you (I think) I have just spent the last two hours on theescapeartist blog. I am hooked, and it has really given me food for thought.

Hi just wondering have you thought of switching bank accounts and getting a free 100 pounds and what about your mobile broadband..sky? Gas electric ,comparing. .
Also food , cooking in bulk and freezing for later..anyway very intresting post , thanks ☺☺

    Thanks for the reply Prosaver:)
I did switch 3 of our bank accounts earlier in the year but will look into this again once we have been with them for 6 months. I have to stick with 1st Direct for a year though as i set up a regular saver which matures in November.

I think we are getting the best deal on our utilities but it won't hurt to check again. Batch cooking I should really do more of, thanks for the reminder.

  • Feeling quite virtuous this morning as Mr Light and I talked ourselves out of going out last night and watched Labyrinth instead. Can't beat a bit of 1980's Bowie!

Made another sale for £42.50 due to Mr Lights improving selling skills which takes the pot to £319.50. Lots of watchers and views on 6 items on £bay with one bid up to £12.95

Car insurance is due tomorrow and i have gone via £uidco to cut the renewal quote by £30 with an additional £26 cashback. Happy with that.

Today will mostly be made up of food shopping and a nice walk in the sunshine as Mr Light returns to work tomorrow :( We have had the cheapest summer in recent memory, not a cruise ship in sight. I feel quite sick at the thought of how much money we have spent on holidays in the last 10 years, best not to think about it really.........I love that saying "don't look back, you are not going that way". All in all it has been a simple but enjoyable summer, I have spent a lovely weekend with my boys, Mum and brother and it was just long enough to enjoy each other's company but not too long that everyone started to get on each other's nerves:rotfl:

Off to make an inventory and meal plan for the week. Hoping that a spend of under £30 can be achieved.

  • I love that film too! Well done on the eBay & insurance savings.
  • Oh My God! I had no IDEA you were doing this! That is amazing, how brilliant that you could be done with stinky work in two flipping years!

I still read Mr Money moustache :) and he does spur me on but not to this extent- I need to read some more methinks.

I will be reading regularly now :) so amazing :)

Thanks Buffster :A I can't believe it myself. I got quite carried away the other day and started looking at trailer tents and was planning where we are going to disappear to.
