You are doing so well. Can't wait to be FI here but a long way off yet.
Must check my email for M and S voucher too.

    MFW 91 op 2015 £4051/4000
    MFW 91 op 2016 £4040/4000

  • Pooky and Cookie9 will you let me know if you have received your voucher as I had a feeling I was being fobbed off.

No sign of a email from their customer service team either with I was promised,

Noticed that Martin has put up another deal, slightly less at £30 which I was considering doing for Mr Light but will wait until my voucher materialises. I really wanted to use that this weekend to get some nice goodies from Marksies as DH1 is home for the weekend.

It's on my list to sort with them tomorrow. I did ask others in a FB group I'm in and someone's had theirs so maybe there's just a batch gone astray. Will let you know.

We don't have a M&S locally and I can't think of anything I'll buy with it but I'm sure I can trade it with someone who'll use it. Just so annoying when you have to chase these things up.

Yes there appears to be several people on the forums (there is a thread on the forums) who have not received their voucher and some that have within 24 hours of complaining. Maybe I am being too nice on the phone:rotfl:

If it isn't here by the time I get in from work tonight I will ring them again.

  • Get the blooming flags out! I have now received my Mand$ £30 voucher. I also braved the embarrassment of buying the daily M@il for 65p to grab the £5 off a £40 spend in L1dl. Also have a £5 Orchard voucher for MrT.

Aiming to get the whole week's groceries with the £35 vouchers and save the L1dl voucher for next week.

Garden is lovely and sunny so off to sit out for a bit.

People at work have really got on my nerves today so I have installed a countdown calendar on by desktop with day to my planned end date..............at the end of 2017!!!

Yep, I have brought it forward a whole 8 months as we both reckon that we can earn at least £6000 a year between us doing "other" things.

    Decision made........475 days to go.

Yay to your voucher! And to the end date! Wow that's amazing. What "other things" do you have planned?

    Did you get your's Pooky?

We have worked out that after we leave our jobs and after a short break of around 6 months we will need to make between us £6000 a year to top up out FI pot. I guess that some people would argue that this means we are not "properly" financially independent but let them argue amongst themselves about that one as I won't give a chuff as long as I don't have to sing to the tune of college managers/OFSTED/1 hour traffic jams etc.

We have lots of ideas which include:
    Online Marking and Moderation
Exams invigilation (will leave on good terms with the college :)
    Temp work
    Home tuition (me)
    Fork lift driving (MrLight)
    Joinery Service (Mr Light)
Lawn cutting and hedge trimming- could do together
    Bookkeeping (if things get desperate)!
Making things out of wood such as bird houses and other small easy to make items to sell at car boot sales and such like.
    Matched betting
Seasonal work such as campsite couriers for a season which is something we can do together
    Events cover
    Cat sitting
    Dog walking

Any more ideas gratefully received :) ........ideally without the need to remove my clothes.

...............second thoughts you can get paid a fortune for online stuff:rotfl: You know, bored housewives kind of thing.

I think that we should easily earn £3000 a year each with that lot.

:T Hurrah to annoying colleagues for inspiring you :D.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
