  • Hey triple M, well done on the neutrality and remember,it's your manager's job to manage. All you did was point something out that a good manager would have been aware of.

  • People like that are bloody pain in the unmentionables. It is your manager's job to listen to such conversations and you really shouldn't feel bad about venting. I have known you for a long time now and I KNOW you are bloody good at your job and very knowledgeable and a decent human being. I don't believe for a second you would vent without reason. You keep your eye on the prize and just think in a little over a year your whole life will have changed. And you will be free of !!!!! like them.

Thank you my lovely friend :A

  • Don't worry, we've got your back :)

Dec17 will come, but remember - it isn't the destination, it's the journey. Enjoy each day until you get there, you can't get them back :)

Thank you for you kind words.

You are 100% right, I want to enjoy each and every day and to be fair I usually do. Just not yesterday and I guess that I would feel a whole lot worse if I felt trapped there as I have done in the past with a mountain of debt and what seems like no end in sight.

Black dog is still walking by my side this morning but I am going to try and find as many positives as I can in my day.

Thanks INOD, I guess I felt a bit guilty as I quite like the colleague in question and have to work closely with her but just needed to vent. Thankfully the manager is well aware of her faults and pointed out that she is quite insecure which is why she feels the need to make a huge fuss all of the time.

Maybe I should just let her get on with it if it makes her feel better.

Dont feel bad. The vent will have been justified.

  • Today will be a day of ruthless de- cluttering as Mr Light (with lots of moaning and groaning) and I are preparing to have a car boot sale tomorrow. I will be happy with a profit of £40 as we do not have the large value items that we had last year but we do have a lot of small value items such as clothes and books.

Need to have a rummage in the loft as there are still lots of toys from when the boys were little.

Off to collect some free wood this morning and looking forward to celebrating with our neighbours on his new job offer, cheap bottle of prosecco from @ldi and good company :)

    Hello Light

Just popping in to say hello :) I have just read the first page of your diary and have subscribed. I'm very interested in the idea of FI in the future but we're not ready to start that journey yet.

One question - are you veggie? Mention of LM sausages and halloumi had me wondering!

  • Hello and welcome Janey :)

I am now a full vegetarian as until recently I still ate seafood but have stopped now. Mr Light is not which makes meal times difficult sometimes as 2 different meals need to be prepared and he eats almost zero veggie food. I have also found that being a non meat eater makes my shopping cost quite cheap too. Halloumi is my favourite thing right now.

  • Mission Car boot fair has been aborted due to the rain :( I will move thehaul of things to sell into the garage ready for next weekend (fingers crossed).

This means that I have a bonus morning to fill, although after our evening with the neighbours I do have a bit of a wine head and what feels like extreme dehydration due to the amount of doritos and salted peanuts I stuffed into my mouth last night, seriously, it was unnecessary.

Think I will have a pint or two of water, a gallon of tea and some fresh fruit for breakfast before attempting anything too strenuous like getting the line of drenched washing in that i just couldn't face doing yesterday. I know, it's disgraceful!

DS2 is coming to visit this afternoon so I think I will prepare some nice food for us all and just enjoy the bonus chill time.
