Just an update on this one.
The clock is ticking on the 21 days, and the email which I sent to Transport Focus has not been replied to yet, so I am getting a bit restless.
I will have to contact the leeches at Reveune Enforcement again to try to talk some sense into them.
Failing that I may have to contact the local press and maybe my MP (not that I am expecting them to be bothered about it)

Have you tried using Twitter? If you are polite, but public, I have found that very successful in the past.

Revenue Enforcement - is that a new name for ticket inspectors?

Yes, I think it is, but they don't care if your station does not (never had) a ticket machine or if the permit to travel machine is out of order.

So, if you set out for work/course, and you get to the station one morning, and there is no ticket machine/permit to travel machine is out of order, then you should not attempt to board a train because that is illegal, you should go home immediately and phone work/course telling them why you cannot attend that day.

Welcome to modern, technologically advanced Britain.

    Another update.
I had not heard back from Transport Focus, so decided to appeal again, stating why I thought they (the Revenue Protection) were being unreasonable.
I then received an email from TransportFocus, saying that they were reviewing my case, and may be able to get back to me by 6th May!!!!!!!
They also advised me to pay the fine, unless I wished to receive admin costs of £20 as well!!!!!!
    Whose side are they on????
Can anyone please help on this matter, because it is driving me mad, and I have not done anything wrong.

If they are advising you to pay, that would seem to mean they feel your appeal will fail

I would suggest that they are advising you to pay simply to avoid the inevitable admin cost increases - as you mention.

If your appeal is successful, then of course you will be refunded all monies paid.
If your appeal is unsuccessful, then you have only paid the minimum amount necessary.

Do what you think best, but if you are not going to take the advice from the people that you have asked for advice...

Or it could mean that no-one has actually read the email yet. Standard advice will always be to pay before the cost increase: if the appeal is successful the money will be returned, and if not the bill will be as small as possible.

Have you read my original post, and the facts?
Why on earth should my case fail?

The person in question (the latest email) has not even managed to look at the details yet, so she has not yet given any advice.
Advising me to pay without reading the facts is not in my opinion "giving advice".
