And look what became of Scargill. People are often not what they seem. A man with a tarnished reputation. Nor a socialist of any description. .........;)0 -

The Tories currently have the same kind of levels of support in Scotland as Corbyn does in England.
The SNP as it stands will win a majority of seats in Scotland and with it secure their third electoral victory in three years. It seems one party winning 75 to 90 % of seats where they stand candidates in England would be termed a landslide.. but in Scotland it's called 'a kicking' lol.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

Voting for Independence might be a possibility though with Labour off the scene though. Choices have thinned out a bit. And especially if the Yes campaign can bring old style ex-Labour/BetterTogether voices like Simon Pia and Mike Dailly to the forefront of the campaign. They've already shocked lots of us by switching to Yes. They'll be more like them too. The ex Labour First Minister Henry McLeish is also very likely to switch now. They should all definitely be front and centre next independence campaign launch. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

I feel fortunate down here in "evil England".
In recent GE's I have been fortunate enough to vote for a good LibDem MP and then a good Conservative MP, because they were willing to listen to the pressing issues in our neighbourhood.
I wouldn't like to have to vote for any old SNP fodder put up for election, just because they were able to spell "independence".
Never mind the dogma, feel the quality
I'm delighted to live in England. It's not evil at all.
I've been fortunate enough to vote for a a good LibDem MP and a Labour one, and for devolution for a local assembly and Mayor (well, two Labour ones).
I don't think so many Scots are voting for the SNP for anything to do with independence, let alone how to spell it.
They're just grateful to have heard of a party that's heard of Scotland and could find it on a map.;)There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

So having a majority would be them getting a kicking ? Interesting concept0 -

Interesting.
Which 20 seats do you expect to be turned over and which parties will gain the seats?:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.

Might I suggest losing say 10% of your seats could be described as a kicking. One thing is for sure you ain't got much upside.0

Yep.
The Tory resurgence in Scotland is interesting and suits me just fine to detoxify the brand for after Indy.
But it's still gonna be a landslide SNP win.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Meanwhile in other news....
Some 'upside' snuck in while you were all distracted by Mayhem's smoke and mirrors.
Should Scotland be an independent country? (BMG)
Yes 49% (+1)
No 51% (-1)

Slow and steady has won nothing since Jun 2016. Yes is trending downwards, No is trending upwards.0
