I would spend more time on a full and appropriate response except for:
1/ You appear to have your hands full already trying (and failing miserably) to respond to the reaction to that from other posters.
2/ As is obvious from those replies of yours you will continue to obfuscate without answering the question. Just as before.
3/ It's a Friday evening and - to be perfectly frank - I CBA to respond any more than it appears Nicola can be bothered to respond to our country's increasing inadequacies.
Just be honest, it's not that you can't be ar**d. It's because you don't really have any answers to give. All of your bullet points above concentrate on snarking at me, rather than actually provide anything worth discussing.
You know as well as I do that the Scottish Govt has nothing much to counter any mythical 'Scotland only' recession with. That's what your post above is really saying. Because if you had any answers to give, you'd have been breaking your legs to give them in order to prove how inept Sturgeon and her Govt are. And you haven't.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
I told you it was all the fault of Westminster tories0

I'm not sure how relevant comparing the economic performance of Scotland with other regions of the UK is when its only Scotland that is putting itself forward for independence.
The onus is on the SNP to make the economic case for an iScotland not desperately state that in comparison with the North-East things don't look quite so bad.
An iScotland with a full array of fiscal and monetary powers is a different prospect altogether. In short, when you ask 'What's Nicola gonnae dae eh'.. you're trying to treat a current region of the UK with minimal economic powers, as a nation with full powers already available at it's disposal in Holyrood. We both know that's not currently the case because if it were Scotland would be independent. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Ah so we've finally settled on iScotland having their own currency. Thank god I was getting bored of waiting.0 -
So this hypothetical independent Scotland will be equiped "with a full array of fiscal and monetary powers"?
So no more of this 'sharing the pound' nonsense? I suppose that's some kind of progress.:) And this hypothetical independent Scotland will need to exercise all of its fiscal powers to reduce that 9.5% fiscal deficit.0 -

But yes, feel free to debunk the methodology of the article and what powers Holyrood has to deal with a recession while most fiscal and monetary powers lie elsewhere. Love to hear your answers on that.
Must get boring living in a gold fish bowl. Unfortunately powers at the disposal of Holyrood alone aren't the answer to the holy grail you seek. Good management is a discipline that you either have or you don't. Somethings text books cannot teach you. Unfortunately career politicians are all theory and no vision. .0 -
Look face facts. No one here can give any actual answers to how Nicola Sturgeon and the Scottish Govt can 'fix' a Scottish recession. Despite going on like the toothache every time a report is released and insisting they can do so, but just don't want to and so they can blame Westminster instead.
None of you have anything other than tired old vague soundbites to offer when it really comes down to it as the above posts prove.
Thought so.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
