I had to go to the doctors today for the first time in ages.

When I used to call up last year you'd get a phone system and have a choice of morning times with one guaranteed pre work appointment.

Today I wasn't able to get an appointment with a GP until late afternoon and was greeted by a message from one of the doctors pleading with people not to make appointments unless they really need to see someone, and that you might be called back to see if you can be dealt with over the phone.

When I got there there were people queuing out the corridor and the normally considered consultations were back to the old 2 minute revolving door - just like things were the last time the Tories were in charge of the NHS.

This is because in January the main surgery in our town shut completely and 5000 patients were dispersed to all the small surgeries that can just about still hire doctors. There are at least 2 more surgeries at risk of closure due to staffing while that ~$$%$^$ of a health secretary is saying that doctors basically now need to work every day.

The local comp, which had just clambered it's way up to Satisfactory, has fallen back to Needs improvement in several areas. And more cuts on the way.

And this is all there ever is and all there will ever be with Tory governments. It doesn't matter how much money the country has they will never ever invest in health, education, housing, jobs or transport - or anything that will benefit normal people.

And this is why Scotland will vote to leave.

But education and health are devolved matters...

I'm afraid reality doesn't match your narrative. Especially when Scottish expenditure per head is so much higher than elsewhere in the UK.

So consider the economic consequences of voting for independence, that argument is pretty black and white, then consider how a government in control of higher expenditure who still get it wrong would fare with not only lower spending compared to now but even lower again and over a much longer period.

Scotland will not vote for independence.

    Theresa has made it abundantly clear;

    - out of the EU
    - out of the Single Market
    - out of the Customs Union

What more clarity do you want?

    That's just hot air.......

She will. There won't be enough No voters next time round to save it compared to 2014. They're nowhere near as enthused about the Union as they were.

It's been all about the EU/Single Market up until now, should a second vote go ahead the Yes campaign as I've pointed out to you will go wholesale on issues such as Tory run NHS systems etc. The talk of how easy and how willing the Tories are to over ride the Scottish Govt in order to take powers back ( fishing/agriculture/Great Repeal bill ).. will be extended to encompass scenario's such as taking the Scottish NHS back under Westminster control producing a UK 'Single Market' ripe for a US type privatisation. No one will believe the Tories wouldn't be up for that sort of caper either.

Powder has been kept dry on this sort of thing for the moment. But in the end the politics of the matter will always win over the economics. And the economic status quo enjoyed in 2014 by BetterTogether has gone as an argument also. It's now a choice between great economic uncertainly either way and who we want in charge when it happens.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

How long do you think an iScotland would be able to afford a free at the point of contact NHS for?

You, and other disgruntled YES voters don't know you're living.

She's doing a great job. Hilary Clinton waiting in the wings to meet her before speaking herself ( Dugdale and her Hilary cardboard cut out selfies must feel a bit of a twit right now ) NY Times saying she brought the house down and Obama in Scotland next month.. though hopefully he won't feel any need to opinionate on any referendums this time round.
The First minister of Scotland brings down the house with frank talk on Trump, Clinton, and double standards in the workplace

The Daily Record as I predicted turning their turrets onto the Tories and Davidson at last. Is a position the Scottish media as a whole is far, far more comfortable with ( plus they're losing readers alienating half the electorate ). Front page header, well, well, well...

Not going to post the pic because it's huge but its here.

Wouldn't even matter if the Tories were the worst government ever....

    1. At some point they'll be out of office and that "reason" for independence will be gone.

    2. Whatever government we have at WM, an iScotland would have to max up the austerity to balance the books.

So in essence, Tories bad, what we propose as living standards are 10 times worse, but it's fine because we made the decision to make things 10 times worse.

    Bonkers!

ps the post with the DR headline is the usual spin/propaganda to influence the gullible ;)
