  • 3rd poll in a row showing increasing support for Indy.

Mayhem's arrogance appears to be shifting the dial rapidly - before campaigning even starts.

Only 17% wanting a hard Brexit in Scotland. Not fabulous for the unionist side having to sell it to Scots voters under a May Govt to be honest.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

Not sure why Scotland or the UK is so reluctant about EFTA. Well to my misfortune, EFTA may think the UK is too big to join, but Scotland fits in nicely.

Very good article in the FT explaining the political challenge any pro-Union campaign would have fighting Indyref2 - and also why paradoxically Project fear cannot be run again even though the economics remain the same.
Scotland voted 62/38 to stay in the EU but Theresa May rejected Ms Sturgeon’s demand that Scotland be allowed to stay within the European single market. This makes it more difficult to build an emotional case around solidarity across the whole of the United Kingdom. If Brexit is “framed in terms of Scotland being ignored, that’s a problem for the prime minister,” said Prof Mitchell.

Who will run Better Together 2 do you think? How will Scotland in Union go down with those all important Labour and Lib Dem voters in the middle 15%. Everything will be targeted on that group and it would be fascinating to know which direction they are travelling in.

going to an Aye Write talk on 'what's next for Scotland' later and I'll be really interested in hearing the views of Alex Massie, Lesley Riddoch and Gerry Hassan :)

Corbyn: Second independence referendum 'should be held'

The UK Labour leader said he would be 'fine' with a fresh vote on the question.

In an interview with the Press Association, Jeremy Corbyn has said he is "fine" with a fresh poll on the independence question.
His position puts him at odds with his counterparts in the Scottish party who have consistently opposed a fresh vote being held.
When asked if an independence referendum was inevitable, Corbyn said: "If a referendum is held then it is absolutely fine, it should be held.
"I don't think it's the job of Westminster or the Labour Party to prevent people holding referenda."

Head in hands moment for Kezia Dugdale.

Not surprised she has her head in her hands, every time Corbyn opens his yap he embarrasses himself and and any remaining labour supporters and drops a point or two in the polls.

Sturgeon quite liked his thoughts on the matter.

Hi elentan, it was good - I like the way LR looks at things, and it is always good to hear Alex Massie's musings too. Nothing particularly new really, but I enjoyed hearing what Lesley thought about NIreland and why there can't be a hard border there, and how difficult it would then be to argue that Scotland would need to have one.

Was Corbyn just in the West End today?

Allegedly he was ... I think Kezia must be pretty annoyed with him today as well lol

Aye I like Lesley quite a lot she has a good way of looking at things ... I asked her why she didn't stand as I thought she would make a great Msp but she is deff not SNP and understands that independents have an uphill battle

Although when I asked Jane freeman the same q she said she couldn't afford to ... now she is a Msp so you never know maybe in an indy Scotland we will be able to have some more independent candidates

    Glad your day was fun
