PS I don't actually mind if Scotland stays or goes - I just think they should make a decision and stick with it- for your own sake's.

    We did; in 2014. :)

Now the minority of agitators have managed to fabricate a reason to demand a rerun.

Don't think there's a groundswell up here demanding constitutional change; there isn't!

In all of Shakey's posts I think if you change the word Tories for English (and any Scots who don't agree) you will be able to take away a greater understanding of what the Nats are all about.

It is not a Tory brexit, it is the will of the majority of the people of the UK.

But that doesn't suit the Nats agenda.

So please when reading Shakey's/SNP posts [STRIKE]Tories[/STRIKE] and exchange for English then it makes much more sense.

Nice try. But I'm married to an Englishman and three of my children were born in England and lived there for their many of their youngest years.

Predictable, boring, deflective and shows a real misunderstanding of what and why ordinary Scottish residents are currently voting the way they do ( ie SNP ). Equating it with anti-English sentiment is just lazy, and we've been round the block on this 1000 times since 2011 as well as having to read Clapton's many rants about 'Flower of Scotland' ..so am stifling yawns re reading the same old, same old.

Scots historically don't vote Conservative in numbers enough for them to gain power in Holyrood. That's just a plain fact.
To me, the biggest danger on the constitutional front doesn’t come from people wanting independence, it comes from people’s frustration that eventually they think they’re never going to have another Labour government. If they think there’s going to be a Labour government, they won’t vote for independence. If they don’t think they’re going to have a Labour government, then it’s a lot more difficult”.

Brian Wilson ( ex Labour MP, anti-devolutonist, anti-independence and Scotsman columnist ) is quite correct.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

    I completely agree.

The timing of the independence referendum is not within the SNP's gift though.

There are other issues which have priority now, and which affect the whole of the UK. Many of these are due to Brexit but we have a new USA president with possible differing outlook on defence and global geopolitics.

As it happens, we have an UK-wide government to deal with these issues. :)

    That's handy!

This is what devolved government means. Certain issues which affect all the people are handled by a government elected by all. I don't want Nicola Sturgeon to determine my future. I had no opportunity to vote for her; Tasmina (any party will do); or any of her colleagues.

Maybe Scotland should wait for the next Saudi-Iran crisis to develop into a war and push oil prices up?

The timing will be determined by Holyrood since it's not a UK wide vote. May can either refuse to countenance another second sect 30 or fight a second campaign. There's a whole large piece of the jigsaw still to be revealed as in what the EU are going to do/say and propose to the UK and how hard ball they are going to play it.

Let's see where we all are in a few months time.

Nothing to do with Brexit then ? Just another referendum affecting Scotland's economy. Laughable. All the headlines just now are trying desperately to stop one happening, that much is obvious. But let's get Article 50 out of the way first. Only then will Holyrood go for it.

Has anybody noticed, it's only the unionists that bring up the English? Can't make a post about Scotland without popping them in somewhere. Somebody's obsessed with them.;)

Performing well under a devolved assembly I'm glad I voted for.

    Thanks for asking. :)

Fancy swapping? I want to live in UK; so London as good as Dundee in that respect.

You could then (hopefully in your case) live in an iScotland.

We could exchange postcards in (say) 5 years time to see how we're both doing.....if iScotland still had a postal service! :)

PS We have a devolved assembly too....perfectly adequate.

    Nope.

    Hardly know any YES voters.

Thin on the ground round my way.

    And at work.

Bet that winds you up! :)
