One of the frustrations all parties have with the SNP is that they've never been able to lay a glove on Salmond, and now Sturgeon as far as any sort of dodgy dealings are concerned. Nothing has come from the Thompson or McGarry cases as yet, and Hosie was above board with his expenses.
Most of this tweet stuff is just adding to the cluttersphere.
If Sturgeon was using the Sturgeon mobile incorrectly then it's probably just an administrative error. I don't see how a Tory(?) not logging a hotel bill against the campaign fund impacts whether the Sturgeoncopter was correctly used or not.0 -

Word from the wise.
Much easier to accuse people of double-standards when you are cynical of everyone in equal measure. Very hard to do when you are defending the on-questionable-ground [not going to say indefensible until the investigations are complete] but would castigate opposition politicians in the exact same positions.0 -
Nicola flies in, meets Drew Hendry surrounded by 'Vote Drew Hendry' banners. Poses arm in arm with Drew Hendry for the cameras and Scottish TV news bulletins that night.
And you say she's not campaigning for Drew Hendry?
Au contraire.
She is clearly doing nothing other than posing for a selfie with the lady to the left. And it's highly doubtful that she gave permission for that photograph to be distributed (though obviously she has no ability to control what other third parties choose to do).0 -

This is exactly how it happens. The True Believers (could be New Labour, could be Gaulists, could be SNPites) get more and more sucked in to defending the True Faith while normal people start thinking, 'ang on a sec, this is bang out of order innit. You're 'avin' a laugh (other dialects are available).
If you passionately believe that the SNP are the holders of the torch there is nothing wrong. If you are the 20% of the population that decides elections then what you think matters desperately and when the True Believers profess everything is okay the 20% think, 'I don't think it is actually'.0 -

Nicola, who'd just alighted from the copter. Isn't holding any banner. Keep trying with this if you wish, but Guido has already given up. This one is a busted flush, and he knows it.
If this Conservative electoral fraud scandal gains any more traction, then the Tory majority of 12 is under threat if any electoral law has indeed been broken. Neither the SNP, nor indeed Labour need to worry about that at all. Guido however, does.
This was uncovered by Channel 4 news and was being investigated long before Wishart stepped in. He's right too, given the scale of the individual police investigations going on. One has to wonder who was co-ordinating and approving all these activist bus and hotel 'expenses' from HQ.
Deflecting to some flimsy and questionable but 'look a jock helicopter' isn't going to help the Tories out if they have indeed broken electoral law in up to 30 constituencies.Tory MPs fear election spending row could lead to jail
Up to 30 exposed by police probe into alleged breach of rules over battlebuses
Breaching spending limits in a local constituency is a criminal offence for which the candidate and agent are liable, with the possibility of fines or imprisonment. There would also be demands for a by-election. “There are quite a few of us who are very worried,” said one Tory MP. “We did everything we could to stay within the rules, but this is very unsettling.”It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

I have never castigated anyone for having an affair, and I have no interest in Whittingdale or in any politician's sex lives. However, there are clearly double standards when it comes to media reportage of SNP MP's and those from other parties and there is acres of evidence for it. Whittingdale, who is actually in charge of Media broadcasting, is a case in point. His story was deemed to be 'not in the public interest' as his sex life is a private matter and quietly buried.
Not so for Hosie it seems who's been plastered all over every media outlet and newspaper in Scotland for the last week.
I don't particular care either way what Hosie does in his private life. But there is a marked difference in the way things are presented to the public. When Strugeon was elected as First Minister last week she turned to Swinney and he hugged her in congratulations, and then she turned left and hugged Hosie's wife Shona Robinson who was also offering congratulations. That hug was front pages as Nicola getting involved in some sort of love 'triangle'.
Hosie has also been subject to lots of has he been pushed or jumped stories. When the truth is that the Deputy Leader is elected bySNP members. Sturgeon had no power to 'push' him. He's just not standing for election this year.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

As above. It's the Conservatives who should be worried. Not the SNP who aren't in power in UK government with a majority of 12... but with 30 MP's being investigated.
The SNP don't hold any torches. But then again, they haven't been caught out busing activists in and putting them up in fancy hotels overnight in order to buy elections and votes. :cool:While the police are responsible for investigating allegations of electoral fraud by candidates, the Electoral Commission has opened a separate probe into the way the Conservatives accounted for their campaign at a national level.
On Thursday, the party produced documents about its general election spending after the commission — which is investigating allegations relating to accommodation costs for activists on the battle bus — took court action.
The Liberal Democrats, who lost seats in the south and the south-west to the Conservatives, feel particularly aggrieved. Adrian Sanders, the former Lib Dem MP for Torbay, said: “The point we are testing is whether it is in order for parties to funnel money into a few marginal seats and distort what should be a level playing field. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

And on you go.
Basically in your mind what the SNP has done is okay because SNP and what the Tories have done isn't because SNP.
Thankfully normal people don't think like that just like normal people don't want to tear up the constitution because the 'wrong' party won the General Election.0 -

Am afraid this Tory election fraud scandal is gaining traction. It's been muted somewhat with the EU referendum in the offing. But should Remain win, it will keep getting bigger.Jon Snow â€@jonsnowC4 6h6 hours ago Tories go to court to try to prevent Kent police having extra time to investigate huge sums they spent in defeating Farage in South Thanet.Do you live in a constituency with a Tory MP? - If we have that MP's spending return, then you can read through it and tell us if you think anything is missing. Here are some hints on what to look for.
- If we don't have the paperwork, then please consider volunteering to get it for us.
There have been a lot of volunteers so far. There are some out there who won't be letting this go in a hurry. If Remain win, expect an immediate backlash from UKIP and Lib Dems on this issue too once the dust settles. And a big resurgence for UKIP half of which voted Tory in 2015 in the hope of a referendum and Cameron looking like he'd support a Leave vote... not predicting WW3.
Equal playing fields and honourable gamesmanship. Is the British thing to do after all. You let the SNP worry about Scotland for now. Sturgeon's copter and a few selfies isn't going to make any difference.
Your biggest problem incidentally ( along with Scottish Labour ) is that you keep expecting politics to 'go back to normal' with the SNP reverting to a fringe party once people realise they're crap. Unfortunately for your own mindset, they're not that crap compared to the other parties on the ballot paper and this is now normal everyday politics for Scotland. Has been that way for near enough the last decade up here. Good luck with waiting it all out. You'll probably be waiting another wee while yet.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

They are obviously getting very worried about how things are going because if there was nothing to hide then they wouldn't be desperately trying to stop the above investigation taking place. Whatever democracy this country has, or in which constitution.. it should always be held on an equal playing field. Labour and the Lib Dems are skint, so there's little chance of them overspending. The SNP have nothing to do with English marginal seats. Guido is onto plums deflecting about helicopters.

I don't expect anything beyond what I have stated: that the longer the SNP hold power the less popular they will become. You apologism for the SNP's misdeeds is a manifestation of what I am saying and it will kick you in the Arsenal.
I don't believe that the SNP has members and representatives that are any better or any worse than any other mass party. I do believe that this strange SNP exceptionalism will end in tears. For you, not for me.0
