Scotland already meets and implements all chapters of the acquis communautaire. There is no queue.

    http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/15086444._No_reason__independent_Scotland_would_fail_to_join_EU/

But you must acknowledge the real stupidity of the current May argument that Scotland being outside the EU being so terrible and a disaster.... is a reason not to vote for independence. It's laughable. With the UK Scotland WILL be out of the EU.

I mean really ! Time to get some much better unionist soundbites. Repeating tired old 2014 ones is only producing ironic hearty guffaws up here. And I think it's fair to say that the tone coming from the EU right now is a whole different ballgame from then.

I particularly loved the Scotland won't be allowed in the EU ... like she has a say ... mawah ha ha ha ha May won't have no say

    Scotland is NOT a country?
U.K team in the football and rugby then?

    Not that old chestnut!

    Sovereign Country.

Which means that it does not have the institution's and everything that comes with running its own affairs, especially not an established reputation for being fiscally sound.

That statement has nothing to do with inherent capability, but reflects the actual status quo.

By the way Bournemouth has its own rugby and football teams, but last time I looked. ....

Bournemouth does not play in the 6 nations,
I accept that Scotland (like England) is not a nation however the UK nation comprises the 3 countries of Scotland,England and N.Ireland and the principality of Wales.
    The union flag reflects this.

What's the name of the sovereign country?

(we appear to go in circles on these issues, have they perfected brainwashing up there?)

Sometimes the words nation and country and swapped around. But this digression aside, the points I made about an Independent Scotland, not currently existing and therefore not having developed the substance of a Sovereign **** (use word you like) is still valid. Shakey''s / the SNP's claim that applying for EU membership will be a walk-through experience is wrong, a bit of dishonest fakery to persuade Scottish Voters to buy a pig-in-a-poke.

FIFA have long granted the constituent parts of the UK the courtesy of fielding individual teams, despite those teams not representing sovereign countries, unlike every other FIFA member.

I've no interest in rugby :)

the current May argument that Scotland being outside the EU being so terrible and a disaster --- that's actually Sturgeon's argument.

No it's Theresa May's current line. Two PMQs in a row she's told Angus Robertson that Scotland won't be in the EU if independent. Roberston was struggling to keep his face straight after she said it both times.

I think we can all agree that this isn't the most persuasive argument to be making to Scots right now.
May says an independent Scotland would not be in the European Union

It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

Come on now Shakey, by Scots you obviously mean Scots Nationalists. Subtle difference there, as you can see.

Sovereign nation is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

I,m not SNP,sorry if that doesn't fit into your one dimensional view of north of Carlisle.
