Small steps, but as far as all energy extraction ( oil, gas, wind etc ) is concerned Scotland wise, there's cause for a degree of optimism about the future. If the oil price does by any chance rebound back up ( no ceiling ) watch those polls won't you. ;)

Five minutes ago you seemed to be of the opinion that the oil price didn't matter. What changed?

If the price of the commodity remains less than the cost of extraction as is the case in Scotland for gas and wind (oil is probably right at the margin at current highs although not high enough for more searches) then there isn't a viable business.

But that's okay because commodity prices don't matter except for when they do apparently.

Confused? Welcome to STDs crazy SNP world.

1)'Oil is a bonus' ( context ) in that other independent countries who don't have it manage perfectly well despite not having any, capice ? There is no way of getting around that particular factoid.

    2) Oil/Commodity prices have never affected independence support. The SNP had most of it's lean, fringe party years during the oil boom, and support has risen as the prices have fallen over the last few years. QED they don't matter that much when it comes to the ballot box. The ballot box is where independence is won or lost.

    3) Oil/Commodity prices matter a great deal to those with unionist/anti-SNP opinions regarding independence. It's all they've spoken about, including yourself for the last 2 or 3 years. Indicating that Scotland could never be independent solely due to very low oil prices and revenues, black holes and deficits.

    4) If the oil price rebounds back up in the near/mid future. Then unionist parties and advocates have a very big problem. Not the SNP, nor those at the ballot box. How they're going to explain that Scotland cannot possibly afford to go independent when oil prices are good, is going to be a bit of problem for the script writers. Since they've spent years telling ordinary Scots that it's pretty much the only thing that's economically stopping it

    Seems pretty straightforward to me.
Oil is slowly moving up from the sub-fifty 'Scottish liability' region into the more healthy 'UK asset' territory.
    ;)
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

Using expenses to shag your mistress in a taxpayer funded hotel room is acceptable? Why?
Because he lives in hotel rooms while he's in London ? As far as I know where one lives is generally one of the places consenting adults normally shag ?

I'm all for Scots shagging, but is the taxpayer being charged for double occupancy or did he pay separately for her breakfast or did she go 'dutch' : we have the right to know.

    Because it's the SNP.

If a video surfaced of Nicola Sturgeon performing human sacrifices in a satanic ritual Shakey would try to write it off as nothing but the biased media crying SNPBAD.:rotfl:

Yes because when evidence surfaced of David Cameron doing weird pervy things to a dead pigs head, or that John Whittingdale was caught escorting a local domanitrix around town. You of course, were the first person in there proclaiming fire and brimstone condemnation.

Actually, you went a bit quiet. Because its the Conservative party.;)

You're like a man trying to throw stones in a rubber clad greenhouse full of leather whips and cured bacon that holds secret initiation ceremonies between MP sittings at Westminster. I'd stop right there if I was you with waggy fingers in that particular department. :o

    No one cares.

Well everyone that was at the party when the pig thing was alleged reckoned the pig thing didn't happen and of course the difference between Mr W and many others is that Mr W isn't married and so is completely free to sleep with whoever he chooses.

If you're married it is rather different as you have sworn an oath of fidelity.

    Hope that helps.

I imagine though paying for a prostitute with the peoples money is frowned upon, I don't imagine cocaine and hookers looks good as an expenses claim ... maybe not maybe the UK citizens s like paying for prostitutes ... I know I don't

It's rather strange how Mr C hasn't actually stated he never put his penis in a severed pigs head, I'm sure that would have been all over the news if he had, he remained silent on the subject, I don't think it's too hard to speculate why he remained silent :)

I do know if I was Mr C and a close confident accused me of sticking my penis in a severed pigs head and I had not done it, not only would I vehemtly state my case, I would demand an apology and sue the person for telling lies... hmmmm not happened yet has it ?

Funny how we don't seem.to hear much about the Tories being investigated for election fraud, that's not going away and yet it has to really be brought into the full media spotlight.... a cynical person may think the whole SNP thing is being used as a distraction from what the Tories have been up to

And maybe not a cynical person as well
