Yes indeed. You don't understand even the most basic of economic concepts. But then if you will rely on twitter....:)
That's been evident for quite some time.
I've not come across anyone pro-independence who does understand the economic implications apart from Hamish and he's gone full loon over some ideological crusade to remain in the EU. Acknowledging the fiscal problems, ignoring the importance of the rUK market to Scotland and ignoring that the EU is a small part of Scotland's economy by comparison. He wants visa free travel!0 -

It was the tone of the Spanish MEP the EU parliament speaker objected to, not necessarily the accuracy.
As usual Wee Ginger Dougs interpretation of the links he's provided have little basis in fact.
He linked to the report. Do you speak fluent Spanish yourself ?
Or maybe you prefer...
Or thisIt all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
Maybe these ?

Not being funny, but you and the UK media's willingless to jump on anything at all regarding Spain is boring and predictable.
We'll find out in time what's what. But Spain will do whatever is best for their massive fishing dependent regions. Holyrood gets those by default. Spain should play nice with Sturgeon, just in case another referendum doesn't go the way it's supposed to.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

What do you see in all of those articles, there's a common thread running through them, it may not be obvious to you because you do not want to see it. Hint, it's not the word "remain".
One of the articles states that there is political will in the EU to allow Scotland longer than 2 years to ratify independence, coincidentally tallying up with what I've said previously about the timetable. Yet the article doesn't mention that arrangements for Scotland whilst it's still part of the UK will be using UK arrangements with the EU. So you'll still be bound by the UK agreements with the EU at this point even if the door is held ajar for you to pop straight back into the EU.
There will be no remaining, either a quick application or a slow application to rejoin.0 -

You think Scottish fishermen will stand for any SNP BS if they get their fishing grounds back? When Holyrood gets power of fishing if they give it away to EU nations again you'll be out of power in a jiffy. It's no bargaining chip, the fishermen want it back, and if they don't get it you and the SNP are going to know about it. Talk about betrayal.0 -
Scotland exports electricity to the rest of the UK. It's mainly wind power, which is subsidised by the UK government via the Climate Change Levy. Obviously, the rest of the UK is not going to be subsidising Scotland's wind power post independence. This hypothetical independent Scotland will have to bear the cost itself.

All that means is that the person who posted that comment does not understand the difference between a fiscal deficit and a trade deficit. Unless a hypothetical independent Scotland is planning to tax these exports in some way, it has no bearing on the size of Scotland's fiscal deficit.

I'm sorry that Twitter is beyond you. Because quite frankly it's where all the most up to date politics, breaking news and updates get done these days by everyone that matters. Even Trump uses it. You should get yourself an account and get yourself caught up with everyone else.
Scotland's exports are in trade surplus. That's marvelous. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Independence first. However, I doubt Scotland will be denied remaining in the EU due to mere timetabling if the EU should prove agreeable. It's going to be complex whatever happens next via Brexit and or Scotland.
The EU hasn't mentioned anything yet. It's a very large part of the picture the UK is yet to hear from. We should all know more soon.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

You do get a lot of your information from twitter, perhaps you should re-think this strategy?0
