Err. It was a joke ? Lighten up. :A

However so glad to see the SNP address this trade with rUK/border question at last. Johanna Cherry on Daily Politics, and Salmond on Radio 4 this morning both stating that Scotland is England's biggest export market. I saw a few tweets today too.

I had a dig about because neither of the above are prone to making statements that they cannot back up with figures ( people may disagree with the figures or the premise of the statement of course ).. however Salmond in particular isn't usually someone who makes statements like these without some figures to show his working.

I couldn't find anything as when I type in "England exports to x,y or z", only UK figures come up along with oodles of Scottish ones. How weird is that ? There's hardly any figures anywhere for England/Wales.

Then I found this discussion on Reddit Scotland.

Scotland is probably rUK's biggest export country. How.... enlightening. I expect this one will take legs every time the trade with rUK is worth x4 times/hard border etc thing comes up. Is it true do you think ?

Ps learn to take a joke from time to time. You surely couldn't have thought I was serious about Braveheart being 100% based on fact ? There's no way Mel Gibson is tall enough to be William Wallace.

And he doesn't shoot fireballs from his backside either ;)

Might not be so when Scotland adopts the groat (and in time the euro). As might not make imports so attractive. Wasn't Standard Life one of the larger companies to say that they would relocate if the independence vote was yes. That would make a dent in the figures.

Yep, standard response by you when called out on something so ridiculous even you and your cronies have to backtrack; its "been a joke, honest guv" several times before on this thread, but guess what.....

To people who value truth, democracy, decency, responsibility, respect of others, (every single thing your grudge orientated, false truth, selfish outcome at all cost attitude rejects), it's not in the least funny.

On the streets of Scotland the Independence arguement has no credebility; why should it when people on this forum post the absolute antithesis of a sound, reasonable arguement?

People who would seek to manipulate the truth in the way you people do are an absolute disgrace......of course, you don't care; by the time an iScotland economy was in tatters you will have an alternative scapegoat lined up anyway.

    Fantasy island now.

60m+ people export more to 5m people than they do to the rest of the world do they?

Check the figures for yourself. However my main contention is that this so far mythical 'UK single Market' that Scotland would be 'leaving' is being used at every single opportunity as the first thing to say when asked about a possible second referendum/independence. Kezia Dugdale, Wullie Rennie, Corbyn and in just about every sentence by Ruth Davidson since July onwards.

The insinuation being that trade will stop overnight and that only Scotland would lose out over it. This is clearly not going to be the case in reality. This is the new 'Scotland would be out of the EU overnight' 2014 equivalent, unproven, based on dodgy figures and say so but repeated so often it becomes fact as the narrative takes hold.

It needs to be stopped in it's tracks now well before it does. Like Scotland being forced into joining the Euro, which is another complete nonsense even Nick Robinson was trying to punt this morning to Salmond <--- who helpfully told him he'd be delighted to introduce some facts to the BBC. :D
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

Elantan didn't hear the interview, but that doesn't matter for these pro-indy zealots.

    They're right....just because they're right!!:rotfl:
