You know what they say when all you have left is insults?
People that go about rewriting people's posts and striking things out while shouting 'fixed that for you'. Are smug. And those who claim to know things that one couldn't possibly know are fortune tellers claiming all seeing visions.

I'm sure you comfort yourself with this thought. But it's not bourne out well with any evidence.
Tories. You've missed out the next decade of Scotland and Conservative Govt's. The SNP, the Greens and Scottish Labour won't do though. Last independence campaign started out with Yes a full 22% points behind No. Next time its 3 or 4 % short of 50% before one is even announced.
You'd ridicule the thought of Scottish independence even if oil was sitting at it's previous heights. Most did on here. Oh the price was high but it was 'running out' then. Now it's the price. It won't be a factor in any next referendum thank goodness.
Ruth is going nowhere apart from a safe seat in England after a Yes vote. She has no policies whatsoever other than stopping a second referendum and the numbers are against her in Holyrood. In other words she can't. Kezia will be toppled after next May after the local council elections more than likely.. and replaced with a full on Home Rule Labour dinosaur Conservative hater like Rowely.
Once Scottish Labour goes, it all will for the Union, and they're nearly there. Nice timing if they have a leadership election after May 17 not long after Article 50 is triggered, and elect a Home Rule advocate. The SNP will welcome that.
This is far from finished. Davidson ( stop the referendum ) and Dugdale ( polls are so bad, right let's do Vow 4 ) are panicking for a reason, and it's not because they're at all relaxed about a second referendum and potential result. They know Scotland better than that, even if you don't.
Wishful thinking.
Unfortunately the evidence is stacked against independence, the polls are now tracking against independence, the political party for independence is getting hammered on their running of government, the longer it continues the worse it will get. The upturn in support for the Conservatives in Scotland shows a trend towards a hardening of anti-independence views. More voters will tack across to the Conservatives regardless of political tribalism simply to stop the independence madness. And that'll be that, the neverendum train will be stopped in its tracks and you'll end up with a binary political system in Scotland constantly arguing about a binary issue. The people of Scotland will not thank you for it and it'll be downhill from there on as people become completely exasperated with the constant moaning and whinging instead of being able to get things done.
Nicola has been told they can have a referendum, after Scotland leaves the EU with the rest of the UK and not before. So if you want it to be binding and not have it shot down in the courts by unionists, well... tough luck isn't it.0 -

By all means show some evidence ( as I did from the Irish Times ) pointing out the direction current reporting on matters seem to be going. Perhaps speculate as I did that the Irish seem quite amenable based on said reports on keeping communications open and going with Holyrood throughout Brexit negotiations 'unofficially'.
But you didn't. You just went a bit smug and know it all with Fixed that for you.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Tricky I invite you once again to look very closely at this paragraph and think deeply on it.This is far from finished. Davidson ( stop the referendum ) and Dugdale ( polls are so bad, right let's do Vow 4 ) are panicking for a reason, and it's not because they're at all relaxed about a second referendum and potential result. They know Scotland better than that, even if you don't.
The Scottish Tories have street stalls on the go right now every chance they get getting folks to sign a petition against another referendum.
Dugdale is flailing all over the place and has been forced into calling for some sort of massive constitutional change within the UK in order to, and I quote, 'Save the Union'. She wants a new treaty of Union in order to preserve the UK in some form. But not it's current one.
Do these Scottish politicians and leaders of their respective parties sound to you like they are totally relaxed and confident that a second referendum will result in a No vote to you ? Davidson is hell bent on stopping it because she's frightened of a Yes vote. Dugdale and most of her party have given up completely even trying to sell the Union as it stands currently to Scottish voters.
Cling on to your polls as a comfort blanket if you wish. And pretend if you like that the only way a second referendum will happen is via Theresa May's permission and the timing to suit her. However never in the history of any country gaining independence does that self determination rely on permission from the entity they are leaving. The people who live there give permission via the ballot box. No one else. Also no one is worried about the courts, who will always be on Scotland's side on the right to self determination and the right to chose who and how they are governed. Look it up.The International Court of Justice refers to the right to self-determination as a right held by people rather than a right held by governments alone.
The two important United Nations studies on the right to self-determination set out factors of a people that give rise to possession of right to self-determination: a history of independence or self-rule in an identifiable territory, a distinct culture, and a will and capability to regain self-governance.(5)
Still lots of events and uncertainties ahead as yet though. At least one knows where one stands on the matter with the SNP. They've been perfectly clear and above board since the very beginning with what will happen should Scotland be forced out of the Single Market/EU against Scottish voters wishes. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

You accuse me of reading into minds and then do it yourself?
The whole point is there is no evidence
It's still nothing but journalists giving an opinion that you post 3rd (or whatever) hand. It's very rare for you to say you're speculating so well done you, keep up with it instead of trying to insinuate that there is any sort of substance in most of the tweets, blogs, articles etc. Where's the fact, where's the tested data to back it up?
Why would the Irish government - who probably have more to gain or lose than any other EU country - want to talk out of school to regional politicians and risk their future?
The SNP are simply trying to claim a Mulligan and using whatever vague and tenuous support and validity they can to get another go.Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0
