    Wrong spin there.

NOT so different to Nissan who also say they get no special deal, huh?
BTW, Theresa May is PM of the UK.
She does what the UK has voted for her party to do - which kinda trumps Sturgeon.
And which is what you and your ilk cannot understand, eh?

You are trying to convince people like me that it's OK for the rUK to want to govern itself but not the people of Scotland ...

That the rUK is better off with no political union with the EU but a trade agreement ... because the UK needs independence ... yet Scotland shouldn't want the same from rUK

Nicola is the FM of Scotland she does what we vote for her to do ;)

I'm not trying to do anything of the sort, where did you get that idea?

I'm trying to tell you that it's a bad idea economically for Scotland to go it alone.

The UK is in a different position, a better position, to do so and on it's own will be able to forge better deals than with the EU single market alone.

A fully independent Scotland, independent from the UK and the EU able to trade with whom she wants and without a massive deficit, I wouldn't be arguing against you, bon voyage if it's truly what the majority of Scots want. That's not what is on offer to you though is it. :)
  • Have you?

Have you seen what some of the English are now saying about Scotland?

You may rejoice at it, I recoil.

The SNP, you, and others like you have successfully sown division in the union. So much so that some English are now calling for Scotland to be thrown out.

    Both sides disgust me.

Are you beginning to understand now why myself and a few others only occasionally "stick our oars in"?
Do you begin to see what happens when logic and fact are used in supposed debate against these pro-independence pro-SNP devoutees?
They resort to deceit or, if you're really lucky, just distraction.
Whatever it takes to get their divisive POV heard.

The more we apply logic and fact the more they jeer, lie and deceive.
Perhaps because - deep down - they know they have no argument of substance.

As has been said before, do not judge all Scots as these devoutees would have you believe.
Don't even think they are a majority.
As others on here have either said or hinted-at, the views described in here by the pro-independence pro-SNP devoutees are in fact a minority in Scotland.
    A shrinking minority at that.

It has been said before that part of their plan is to make England and the English so fed-up of the continual whinging and interference that they excommunicate Scotland from the UK.
    THIS plan too will fail.

This will be the unelected PM of UK your talking about compared to the elected FM of Scotland ?

That's not how the UK parliamentary democracy works, and you know it.

Parties choose a leader, we elect the party. The leader becomes the PM. You don't elect the PM.

Have you got any proof for that baloney?

1/ No one knows how well Scotland can navigate post independence and especially if it is in the EU.

2/ The UK is in a dire situation. Debt spiralling out of control and has lost it's power image worldwide...
Brexit has broken Brand Britain. It’s not just the pound that has plummeted since 24 June; there has also been a rapid devaluation of our international image. Once upon a time – like, three weeks ago – a “British” accent was an asset in the US. It connoted class, culture and cosmopolitanism. Now it conveys parochialism, priggishness and poor political decisions.

Well that's absolute crap. The opinion of a shrilling liberal journo does not indicate anything other than you should stop reading what they write.

I've shown many times that the SNP and independence supporters continually fail to make the economic case. Continually.

I've also said many times, if it made sense you wouldn't have such a hard time becoming independent.

The UK is a large enough and rich enough market to go it alone in the world. But again you're twisting this into being about the UK as a justification for Scotland. It's not the same. You need to trade with the UK right now more than anyone but you want to leave it to join a union that might stop you trading with your most important market.

It doesn't make sense to follow Sturgeons plan of single market at all costs, and if the UK has single market access then Scotland has the best of both worlds and there's no material change - so no referendum.

I think trade both ways would be similar even if there was a few spit their dummy out.
