Indeed.
As evidenced by....Scotland is also one of the richest nations on the planet, they have oil don't you know. They also have Whiskey Export Duty, the sale of UK assets (who stole them from Scotland anyway), pay more in taxation than they spend, and there's no deficit or debt. It's a wonder how the rest of the United Kingdom will manage without them should they become independent.
Scotland has a budget so large that NHS funding, armed forces, foreign office, welfare, EU contributions are not even concerns. When Scotland finally takes back this subsidy it gives to the UK every local leisure centre and library could be built out of solid gold, paid for by oil and taxation of the rich, or perhaps it was a dividend per household worth £1,400? It will quite literally be a wonder of the modern age.
Scotland has none of those things.
The cuts to the Scottish budget required to get the deficit down to sustainable levels without the current Westminster subsidy will be eye-watering.
I've repeatedly noted that is the case and will continue to do so.
But that doesn't alter the fact I'll change my vote to leave the UK if the UK doesn't stay in the single market and keep free movement of people with the EU....
And I'm not the only one.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

I would suspect you are alone, because you're advocating a ride on the Greek austerity train. No one is going to buy that ticket unless they're completely misinformed.
Walk out into the high street of your local town, ask random people if they would vote to be independent if it meant Greek style austerity and find out what the answers would be.
You're most likely alone.0 -
Please point to where it is suggested those that voted remain are deff indy supporters ? I personally reckon the way people.voted in the EU ref isn't an indicator on how they would vote on indy ref 2 ... I merely pointed out no one knows at this time and it's up in the air
Everything the SNP is currently doing relates to Scottish independence being the backstop to remaining in the EU on the basis of the EU referendum.0 -

Sure there are SOME who advocate independence no matter what.
NOT, I strongly suspect, as many as Hamish and others would have you believe.
As evidenced by posts from Scots within this thread.0 -

Still not telling me that everyone that voted remain wants indy ... now your trying to change the subject ...
What Nicola wants and expects people to believe doesn't explain that everyone that voted to remain wants indy ...0 -
I can't see how the financial sector could stay up in Scotland if the EU holds to its position of no passporting since the majority of Scottish business will be with EW&NI.0

FWIW if Scottish whisky become really expensive - this is as good - if not better0
