Proportionally, you can compare it £ for £ but it's still a whacking great chunk to Scotland, not nearly as much for the rUK.

And if you want to claim I'm exaggerating Shakey, read the comments from your compatriots. I've lied about none of it. I've exaggerated about none of it. It's there for everyone to see, permanently, on the Web. I only browsed through the first 4 article comments sections. Some of it was decent, some moderate, and some downright filthy.

I did say not to read the comments as you'd explode with rage. There are some real nutters post there under the articles. Is the nature of blogs, have never posted or participated there myself.

The same however can equally can be said of any Daily Mail comments section regarding immigrants and a recent Express comments section where people were advocating that Nicola Sturgeon should be shot. That's how the internet is, time to wake up.

The article however... what did you think ?
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

No one is disputing the figures. What is in dispute is that ALL of that will stop instantly should Scotland vote for independence on the basis of the Brexit vote and being out of the EU without single market access. Sort of like with the UK and the EU.

Quite possibly, but as the brexiteers argued, do people honestly think that (in this case) the rest of the UK wouldn't want a trade deal with an Independent Scotland?

I did comment on the content of the article, I've since forgotten much of it I'm afraid. Honestly I'm sitting here thinking I don't know how to feel about this anymore. Do I want people who hate me because of where I'm born being allowed into the country I live in? It really is beyond the pale. Why is it not called out? Is everyone sympathetic to it?

If you all think we're !!!!!phile appeasers then quite frankly you can stick your trade where it doesn't shine. I would absolutely be worried about a backlash against anti English sentiment. It's knocked me for six. I'd rather be poor than facilitate people who hate who I am.

Someone needs to answer for that hate.

Unfortunately, you will have no say in the matter. It'll be the rUK companies trading 62.7 billion with Scotland (2013) that will influence it.

Wouldn't it need to be the other way around so that Scots have money to spend with English companies?

Mollycat and IslandAnnie are playing you mate. Both are full on SNP haters who debate here periodically in order to crank the hatred up a notch and sing from the 'anti-English' songbook as often as possible. Scottish civil war... just listen to yourself. Honestly. I'm a mother of five with an English husband. Lived in England for many years during my husband's time in the RAF and a fed up justifying myself about this anti-English s**t.

Offensive, manipulative nonsense; but not entirely unexpected.

Nationalism in general and some nationalists in particular have caused huge wounds in Scotland over the past 3-4 years which will take decades to repair.

It's easy for you to spout this type of defence for the behaviour of some nationalists on an internet forum but I doubt you'd get very far trying it on the streets of Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverclyde, (remember those places, voted overwhelmingly to remain in the UK) without getting called out.

Tricky, string, islandannie have ran rings round you in this thread, (which is the best ant-independence advert I've ever seen BTW), but as ever don't let winning the arguement be the crucial factor, eh? :)

ps I post "periodically" because I've got better things to do than endlessly debate with the "it's all Westminster's fault" brigade.

    Have a nice weekend all.

Beginning to look like a trick pony. With nothing else to offer.
