He/she seems to be trying to insinuate something and I'd like to understand what it is. If it is what I think it is I'd like to see something concrete to support that view.

Nice try. But Brexit was the big one.

Nicola has been maneuvering the debate and implying "If the UK vote Brexit we'll vote for Indy" She's traipsed across Europe meeting EU leaders and made a big shout about how important the EU is for Scotland.

She hasn't been off the TV for months drumming up support - and you're still languishing at below 50%.

The SNP's biggest chance for Indy for the foreseeable future, and the Scottish people just don't want to know.

I'd hedge a bet that since none of us have the slightest inkling besides 'brexit means brexit' what form this will take people are keeping their cards close to their chest until they know what the future holds.

Could be months or possibly years before this mess is resolved.

Well you have been consistently wrong : no need to boast about it.
Last time we crossed paths you were lamenting the likelyhood of a Remain win.
The reality is that Nicola will only (try) to call for a new referendum when the polls consistently show over 55% and preferably over 60% in favour.

Everything else she says is just junk, to fill in the time and to cause as much mischieve as possible.

I have to say I am massively disappointed.
It seems the voters of scotland are far more intelligent and moderate that I gave them credit for : to them I offer my apologies.

She'll call one when the timing is right and when she thinks she has an excellent chance of getting over 50%. I keep hearing this 60% in the polls being quoted and in truth it's a story from a newspaper about a year ago and attributed to an unnamed source.

Personally I think she has an excellent chance right now. But patience is required, and we're all electioned out up here. Article 50 will change that a bit.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

I think I'm seeing a fair amount of British nationalism rearing its head over these last few pages. But that's surely ok Molly?....... I don't need to repeat what I said a few pages back but it's no longer a little undercurrent. It's blatant, there for everyone to see though I'd imagine the culprits have no idea what I'm talking about.

No doubt it will be blamed on the so called "scots nationalists" who "started it".

It's worse than children in a playground.

    Hypocrisy at its finest.

    Get real.

Has anyone on here called the Scottish "!!!!!phile appeasers" or "war mongers" or "thieves"? There's derogatory (nats/britnats) and then there's hate, and some of the stuff on Wings of Scotland is downright hateful.

If you can show me a large group of people calling Scottish people similar things, I'll agree with you. Until then, it's the Scottish nationalists who hold that view.

I doubt your version of Brexit has either to be honest. The Tories will go with the money, and that means the lightest of Brexit lites.

The SNP's biggest chance is only when Brexit actually becomes a realistic prospect, and if the UK is outside of the Single market. None of that is looking like happening anytime soon though is it Rinoa.

I haven't read the comments, but I think they're referring to the right wing press burying damaging stories about former MP's and the like. Not English people. You can calm down now and stop clutching your pearls so tightly. .

The articles themselves are good though if you ever want to read two sides of a particular story. Or there's other blogs/discussion areas I can recommend for you both pro/balanced and anti independence. Reddit is very good on the Scottish sub, as are the Uk politics, overall UK and the Europe subs in general. Moderated too. The Europe sub in particular is excellent for seeing things from another perspective.

Are you confusing Westminster with England/English? It would appear so. I'm sure you've read of cover ups and protection of MP's and other high office holders regarding pedophilia. Is there any logic in calling ordinary citizens war mongers or thieves? Wouldn't it seem more likely these comments are directed at those in power who make decisions that impact all of us.

I condemn petty name calling but for you to be outraged when just a few pages back your choice of wording was pretty extreme is a bit pot, kettle.....

I've just realised Tricky most probably won't accept that the comments aren't directed at ordinary English citizens. If he does then he has to accept being guilty of the same thing.

It's much easier & suits the rhetoric to try and fuel the anti-English sentiment. I think those of us who live here who even have English spouses ( that's me & shakes) could talk till we are blue in the face about this being a very tiny minority yet it would most likely fall on dear ears.

The electorate just aren't sufficiently sophisticated to work out stuff like that. They have gut feelings and know what they want.

    And they don't want Indy.
If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.

The comments I saw were directed towards the English in general. There's always going to be nutters, just like UKIP. But no one calls them out on it on these blog posts. Either people agree or they don't think saying such things is an issue. Even you on here are trying to deny it or claiming it doesn't exist or that it's a tiny minority, like any of that makes it OK, rather than denouncing it and recognising that your movement contains this element.

I'm not a bloody idiot, I know what I read and as I said it's on there if you want to look at it.
