It was almost believable until I read this part.As an independent country we don’t need a 9% share of two aircraft-less aircraft carriers, we probably don’t need a 9% share of the London Underground (though I’d be tempted to claim the stop nearest Westminster and maybe hike the ticket prices a bit) and trying to claim our 9% share of Trident (14 warheads) may not be considered particularly diplomatic.
This appears to me to suggest the author thinks that Scotland has a claim to 9% of every asset in the UK? If that's true isn't the opposite also true in that the UK has a percentage interest in Scottish assets, they've not accounted for this.
So whilst Scotland may own 9% of assets in Glasgow, the UK owns 91%?
Therefore Scotland will be required to use this 'bargaining chip' to trade the 9% of UK assets for 100% control of assets in Scotland. It seems far too complicated to assume that your going to magically end up with money after taking on 9% of the UK debt along with 9% of everything else 'UK' and still come out the other end with a pot of money. I'd need to see a much more detailed breakdown of how that would work to consider it feasible.
It also ignores the increased spending Scotland has had for decades and assumes that wouldn't be factored into a settlement. Years of higher spending per capita should be accounted for. Or should Scotland get a better deal than the rest of us? If not then it's not likely to be a straight 9% of anything, it'll likely be lower.
That article does seem to be a great example of an echo chamber. Some proposals that support a position, not being criticised at all and everyone giving each other a big pat on the back and shouting 'bring it on'.
This is great too:Bill says:

Because Trident can’t be moved we can charge whatever we like.
Charge whatever you like? And people on there are on about Westminster possibly picking up the ball and storming off home. Looks like they're already advocating an attitude not far from that.
Either a split will be amicable or not, if it isn't no one will be happy. Quite unreasonable people.
Edit #2345: Bloody hell, no wonder you said don't look at the comments.
Are you seriously going to claim there is no anti-English sentiment there? It's bloody vile. Is that the seriously shocking underbelly of Scottish nationalism right there?
Edit #2346: This is intense hatred. Then there is the way the UK bleeds us at all turns, we would be stopping that for sure. I do not know how much that would be, but experts would assess this, and find ALL the ways they steal from us, there is no other way to put it. It is sure to be substantial.
Edit# 2347: Sorry to keep editing this, but having drawn my attention to the comments section I'm now convinced that this is nationalistic fervour, stoked by anti-English sentiment. You f*cking hate us! It's intense. Nothing said about the Welsh or Northern-Irish. Just the English, we're the devil incarnate apparently. Stealing your money, raping your women, murdering your nobles, 300 years after accepting Scotlands hand in marriage for better or worse.

ALL nationalism is the same; it's just the tactics, spin and propaganda that's different.
Remember folks; the SNP are trying to wear UK down so that you guy's get fed up and say, "let them have their independance".
Which would be bizarre given such a small portion of Scot's want it:)
Don't fall for it; reject all Nationalism whether it's UKIP, SNP or NF.
BETTER TOGETHER!

You're welcome. I studied different forms of nationalism as part of my History degree so I can give you sources to more detailed, scholarly work if you would like.

After reading those comments I'm seriously wondering if I shouldn't also be campaigning for Scottish independence.
A truly eye opening insight into how these people really feel about the English people. Disgusting.
Do you really align with these people?
And you've tried to tell me they're not as bad as UKIP? They're the bloody same just with a different target of hate.0 -

A smaller portion of our Nation voted for independence,so for goodness sake shut up and recognise the democratic will of the people.
I for one am getting sick of the losers of a democratic referendum moaning and whining like spoiled children.

Well I've nearly finished my holiday ... a wee tour of the west coast of Scotland ... first time I've ever take a main holiday in the country I live in.
It's given me a problem
I'm finding I'm falling in love again with the people, and this is not good for my eat popcorn and Watch it all play out role
I'm starting to care about the people and the country I live in ... and that would mean going and digging into facts and reels of publications again ... something I gave up at 10pm on 18/9/14
This isn't guid for me as I don't know if I can take the stress of campaigning in another indy ref.
I have a lot to think about ... and I think some painful choices to make ... incidentally if I do ... expect another shake arguing and debating and not an El eating popcorn and watching and laughing at the idiocy of people like tricky and molly
Sheesh ... I don't know if I wanna go there again it's bloody hard work and life is short0 -

100% correct.
Exactly the the same as the people they pupport to detest.
No insight, no arguement and no credebility...especially up here and hopefully down south as well.:)0 -

I hope that's a joke otherwise you are seriously deluded.
Pity your degree isn't in economics; it might give you a better appreciation of the relevant subject matter.
ps Even the link you provided disputes different forms of nationalism exist!! :rotfl:0 -

It genuinely worries me that these people have put the SNP in power. Should we expect to see a Scottish civil war any time soon? They hate unionists almost as much. They appear to be traitors and brainwashed scum on this blog.
And this isn't divisive? If I had a dim view of Scottish nationalism before it's well and truly in the gutter now. Either Scottish nationalism is defeated and called out on its hate or Scotland really ought to leave the union for the sake of the rest of the UK and we'll take the unionists with us. I see similar language from Sinn Fein in the 80's.0
