I read frequently about the economics of it all and how we'd never survive & be a total basket case yet many Leave voters had the same arguments we did in 2014 and still chose to leave. Something to ponder.
:-)
I frequently read something that will be massively detrimental to my countries well being but ignore itLeft is never right but I always am.0 -
Haha, great.
Where have all these anti-independence people come from all of a sudden, I felt like I was fighting a one man war on this thread.
Good to see, I'm with you down here in England, fight the good fight! Don't let the SNP lies ruin your/our country.0 -

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is most definitely a country, it is the sovereign state.
England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales are not countries in the sense of a sovereign country.
Scotland isn't a member of the EU and neither is England, Northern Ireland or Wales, the member is the United Kingdom, the same goes for NATO, the UN etc.0 -

Trident for others ( am not a Green myself ), the recent announcement on Clyde Shipbuilding etc etc. Everyone has different reasons. However, the fact of the matter is that Brexit has more than likely tipped the balance towards Scotland leaving the UK if another referendum is held. I think you and string know it too.
Thanks for the help anyway. Appreciated.
You forgot something:Union, not Disunion

You can't of been here very long. There's usually loads of anti-independence people on these threads. They usually wander off after getting bored debating with me. You will too most likely. :cool:It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

Gawd, not this old chestnut again. Countries 'in a sense'. The UK is a state, made up of nations. The clue is in the name.

All this tells me is that many just do not 'get' what this is all about. Simply a nation being in control of its destiny. Not being overruled by its larger neighbour as demonstrated recently.
How on earth does joining and being ruled by the EU fit with that?
Seriously can you explain that? That's what I just don't get about the Scottish Nat position.0 -

Yourself and all your thankers on this thread have been wholly unable to address the economic argument, and the pound in peoples pocket talks more than anything.
We all got a wonderful lesson in that a few weeks back. 'We're all fed up with experts' was the line wasn't it ? And your good self am afraid, is certainly no expert on absolutely anything Scotland related, bar what you read as gospel in the Telegraph and the Daily Mail.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

I've not been here very long no, this is true.
My main argument has been the economic one to be fair, and there's no answer to it as yet.0
