    The EU was constricting trade.

Vote for independence to join the EU, you'll find out why I voted to leave it :)

We're already in it. Have been for the last 40 years. :)
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

i.e. when they punish your trade with the UK because the UK isn't in it and Scotland is in it.

Hard borders and tariffs will be the order of the day if the trigger action for an independence vote is single market membership.

We've been over this ground so many times. It's clear I can't help you, you can lead a horse to water, etc...

String, you voted Remain, so did I.. lets both work together and smooth the path towards the SNP and all the other Scottish poltical parties working towards what we both wanted on 23rd of June. Scotland staying in the EU. ( The ship has sadly sailed for England and Wales ).

No - the SNP is hell bent on destroying my country, based on a false and deceitful prospectus and to the detriment of Scotland.

Such aims are irreconcilable with what I stand for.

For my part, having lost the EU Referendum, I shall do all I can to make Brexit work well for the UK including Scotland within it.
    Union, not Disunion

I have a Right Wing and a Left Wing.
It's the only way to fly straight.

I hate to break this to you string. But the UK isn't a country. ;)

It's just one of them ( triggers ). Conservative Govt's for the next decade or more will also be a bit of a persuader for a lot of Scots. Trident for others ( am not a Green myself ), the recent announcement on Clyde Shipbuilding etc etc. Everyone has different reasons. However, the fact of the matter is that Brexit has more than likely tipped the balance towards Scotland leaving the UK if another referendum is held. I think you and string know it too.

Thanks for the help anyway. Appreciated. :)

    It is.

When you're asked what your country of residence is when applying for a visa, you don't put Scotland do you :)

Nah, I think you'll lose an independence vote when the facts become clear probably by a similar margin to before in 2014. Yourself and all your thankers on this thread have been wholly unable to address the economic argument, and the pound in peoples pocket talks more than anything.

Since we have now conflated Scottish independence with being in or out of the EU, is there anything else we can throw in to the conflation mix?

    How about Trumpism?

He still owns a devalued golf course complex up in Scotland doesn't he? Perhaps there is some arcane Scottish legislation that deems him to be a Scot because of this, and hence ineligible for running for US President.

It would be even better if this clashes with some Brussels legislation about golf course owners.
