I didn't see that. You will know presumably that it was from the Nats independence White Paper of 2014.

Here's another gem from Krankie when the EU confirmed that an independent Scotland would not be admitted.

“We have set down a robust and common sense position. There are 160,000 EU nationals from other states living in Scotland, including some in the Commonwealth Games city of Glasgow. If Scotland was outside Europe, they would lose the right to stay here.’"

Sounds like that’s a deportation threat but can you imagine the outcry if the Tories said it?

Er no. She was talking about the facts of Scotland being out of the EU, not threatening deportations ! And any points system in Scotland would be to ensure MORE immigration not less.

Are points going to make prizes then?

    For Scotland, probably yes.

Scotland's deaths could outweigh births over the next 25 years - sparking calls for increased inward migration.

The National Records of Scotland has released its latest projections which predict there will be 240,000 more pensioners by 2043, a 23.2% increase.

It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

That's the same across the developed world. Declining birthrate as affluence increases. By 2050 Nigeria is forecast to be the 4th largest country by population size. China too maybe heading for decline by then. As more and more more migrate to City living.

Do politicians ever tell the truth?
"Alex Salmond pledged there would be no second referendum for "a generation", even if he lost by one vote."

Maybe not a tory but Alistair Darling was certainly representing the united remain side when quoting in a live debate...
"The only sure way to remain in the EU is to vote remain"

That turned out to be a threat AND a lie.

Had Scotland gained independence in 2014 before we voted to leave the eu then they would have left the eu before the rest of the UK, as soon as they had left  the rUK and paid their debts.

There is a good chance the majority to leave the eu would have been considerably higher too as the Scots would not have been voting.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

How do you figure that out?  In what way was it a lie?  He was stating the facts at that moment in time so stop being over dramatic.

Personally I think this has been flogged to death. We know the quote, I saw him say it on the Andrew Marr show, but I can understand why some don’t latch on to it as much as unionists. It was his opinion, although other SNP figures said similar things, I was certainly aware of the caveat about change. The PM described the last GE as “a critical once-in-a-generation election” did he mean there were to be no more critical elections for years? As with all these sound bites you need the full text and the context. What Salmond said in 2014 is not the stick to beat the SNP with in my view, there are plenty of other area that deserve scrutiny and explanation. For context I voted ‘no’ in 2014 but am not frightened by another vote. The ‘Good Friday Agreement’ allows for a Border Poll every seven years.
The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don't know anything about.
