The things is, what you have just said, "get on with the day job" is just a soundbite and the current fashionable tactic of the SNPs political opponents. It doesn't mean anything at all, what do you mean exactly?

Depends on your view as to what elected representatives should do with their time. Only so many hours in the day. Nothing ever stands still. Economies don't run themselves.

Not read much of this thread and I am unlikely to contribute much more as it reads much the same way as any BBC comments section on any big Scottish topic inundated with SNP bad, Scotland too wee, too poor and too stupid posts from people south of the border. Same with the comments section on pretty much any of the UK wide mainstream media. It doesn't bother me too much because thankfully anyone living south of the border won't get a say in any future referendum.

    Good to hear!!

We don't need any more jaundiced, grudge based opinion passed off as fact, thanks very much.

Cheers for passing by though :)

If I was a unionist - and I don't mean one of those British nationalist types who have poppies (nothing wrong with them btw it's just to paint a picture)in their profile picture year round, no hair a beer belly and when drunk and in groups at football games start doing nazi salutes - i'd be out asking these groups to stop damaging the case for the union. I had the misfortune of experiencing this first had on the only independence march I have attended. The group of about 25 spewed hatred and bile for hours as tends of thousands marched pass with a smile on their face.
It's on both sides of the debate or did you miss all the comments on social media/media from the Indy side saying any MSP or anyone that voted for them should be hung for treason/lined up and shot etc. for voting against the SNP during the last Scottish Parliament debate.
Constantly threatening Unionists and as per your earlier posts dismissing their views as all being from folk south of the border isn't going to increase your chances of Indy, but simply alienate what last time round was over 50% of voters.

Interesting how the concept of the EU was to bring peace to Europe. Instead some decades on. All the historic divisions are being reignited.

All I can say is this is the strart of a new future for the whole United Kingdon.

Good on Boris, I say, and well done all those who work in the background.

And, by the way, I am Scottish and would never vote SNP or for Independance.

It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

Never mind. I'm sure they'll get by somehow.
    Scottish Parliament constituency voting intentions:

    SNP 51%
    Conservatives 23%
    Labour 17%
    Liberal Democrats 7%

Should Scotland be an independent country?

    Yes 50.2%
    No 49.8%
    Survation. 3/2/20

Another poll released 9.30 tonight. All of them together should show us the direction of travel at least.. ( and it's not down for indy support so far ).

  • The upcoming fisheries bill is going to state that EU countries can no longer have access to UK waters. I wonder if the SNP will side with the EU against their own coastal communities? So far they've voted against every bit of Brexit legislation. I bet they will nit pick and find an excuse to oppose this. It won't look good. Especially as Scotland have got 65% of the UK fishing industry. Nightmare for the SNP.
The fascists of the future will call themselves anti-fascists.
  • Not too bad for a Panelbase poll.
Should Scotland be an independent country? (Panelbase poll for Scot Goes Pop, 28th-31st January 2020):

    Yes 52% (+5)
    No 48% (-5)
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Who needs to actually work when there's oil and gas, fresh water and renewable energy? Fishing would add little to GDP per head.
