They'll vote Yes next time.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
It was the mandate leave parties had when they called for the Brexit vote.
I have already said if the Indy parties take in over 50% of the vote in Holyrood that would represent a similar mandate for an Indy vote that was present for a Brexit vote. But it needs to be votes and not just polls, and it appears that is the current route the SNP are going to try and take after Sturgeons speech.
Whether the Scottish electorate will accept that refusal is another matter altogether.
4/2/20In last month's general election, the SNP won 48 of the 59 Scottish seats in the House of Commons. Do you believe this result gives the SNP a mandate from the Scottish people to hold a second independence referendum?
Yes 53%
No 47% ( ex dk's)
When Scotland voted against independence in the 2014 referendum, it was not known that Britain would leave the EU a few years later. Do you think Brexit is a big enough change of circumstances to justify holding a second independence referendum?
Yes 56%
No 44% (ex dk's)It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Not necessarily!
I work with a Polish lady who has just, along with her family just spent £6,000 on getting a UK passport. I dont think that she will be waning to give that up so easily!Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -

No it isn't. If people want to vote they should be citizens of the UK.
Now EU nationals are like any other foreigners with perhaps a little more in the right to remain.
British Nationals have just lost the right to vote in French regional and local elections.0 -
The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don't know anything about.

Even if she could turn it into a Scottish Passport that'd give her freedom of movement across the EU28?
She has that anyway with a "Right to Remain"
She obviously feels that having a British Passport is worth the moneyTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -

By omission you seem to forget that giving 16-17 year olds the vote is also Labour, Green and Lib Dem policy.
Are they moving the goal posts to help the SNP as well?baldly going on...0
