Scotrail is apparently being subsidised to the tune of around £300m per annum and the current franchise holders have just been stripped of the franchise after asking for another £250m a year. Some profit. I don’t think it’s nationalised either but could be wrong.
So what you're acknowledging is that we're heavily subsidising it anyway, so may as well just nationalise it?0 -

Of that, there is no doubt and I think it’s intentional with the aim of provoking an equivalent reaction. If I were PM, I would accede to every request from Mrs Sturgeon for more devolved powers. Given that this would result in Scots being taxed more when they already pay more taxes than the rest of the UK, it would be interesting to see how popular the SNP actually would be when they next have to seek re-election.
Isn't that just independence?0 -
100% absolutely spot on.
Anyone who tells you on here, in the flesh, on social media etc, that a HUGE part of the Scottish Independence movement isn't based of strong feelings of anti-englishness is either lying, stupid, or psychologically suppresing their awareness of it due to discomfort.
In areas where Nationalism is strongest, people feel comfortable enough to express it openly.
"Slice of racism with your Xmas pud Nicola?"
"Yes please, but don't tell our lefty friends down south or in Brussels"
Have you ever met a Scottish independence supporter? I dont know any that hate the English.0 -
Is there anyone else getting like me and sick to death of hearing about a Scottish referendum to the point you no longer care what they do now. I love/loved Scotland, my love affair with the place started many years ago after watching the film Local Hero, could not keep away from the place at one time.
But right now I am really struggling to even like the place, and they have lost my status of 2nd team in the internationals, they don;t even make 8th these days0 -

An imminent spending splurge by BJ oop North of England will thanks to the Barnett consequentials send millions more up to Holyrood, the clueless SNP will not know what to do with it and this extra cash not raised in Scotland directly will add to Scotland’s non EU membership compliant budget deficit. Independence is as far off as its ever been.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0

You're being played by the media to distract you from something else. It's barely mentioned up here but a friend on the south coast tells me you guys get bombarded with it.
Exactly!! (from a YES voters mouth too)
Reading the wider UK media you would think a signicicant number of Scots are frothing at the mouth at the "injustice" of "not having their voices listened to"
Reality, everyone getting on with day to day buisiness relieved that what seemed like endless elections/referenda talk is over....apart from the small minority of frothing at the mouth brigade who try and keep this "issue" at the front of the news.0
