The loss of £3.8 million for the last financial year (which is admittedly half of the previous year's loss) combined with a government debt of £40 million suggest feasibility to be at best problematic.

Watch out for another SNP debt write-off.

Oops.. sorry I had no intention of offending by posting. I found it funny as everything he said has been said on here at some stage. It was intended as a bit of lighthearted banter at the holidays. Ah well, the best-laid plans etc etc....

The only thing I ever remember about Prestwick airport was a news item a few years ago. It said there was an air traffic controllers strike on and both flights that were due to land that evening had to be cancelled. It still makes me laugh.

I honestly dont know why Prestwick is still open. It seems to get used by the US military a bit now, since it's the closest one to Trumps golf course, but for everyone else it's less convenient than Glasgow.

The current contract holder is nationalised and making a profit, so why shouldn't the profit go to Scotland rather than Holland?

Because it might fetch a lot of money that Scotland could use to fund its failing health and education services.

I should have known to fact-check your posts before responding. Scotrail is apparently being subsidised to the tune of around £300m per annum and the current franchise holders have just been stripped of the franchise after asking for another £250m a year. Some profit. I don’t think it’s nationalised either but could be wrong.
