Weans the nats have spent years indoctrinating in schools.
If EU nationals want a vote they can apply for citizenship if they are that keen.
Everything the nats do is to gerrymander the result in their favour.
Perhaps expat Scots should also be given the vote but that wouldn't suit your agenda now would it.
However, the biggest sea change coming is from Scottish Labour. Kezia Dugdale, Neil Finlay, Paul Sweeney, Monica Lennon and Ged Killen are all making comments today which indicate they are on board with a second ref ( not necessarily indy ) since the Scottish electorate seem to wish one. This is a huge u-turn for them and much welcomed.Monica Lennon 37m
“If Boris Johnson isn’t prepared to grant this request he should allow the Scottish Parliament to decide... the future of Scotland must be decided by the people of Scotland.”Ged Killen 30m
Agreed. I campaigned on a promise to vote against indyref2, but I lost. The SNP made massive gains on a promise to hold another referendum and, as democrats, we must accept it even if we don't like it.Leading left-wing Labour MSP Neil Findlay: "We cannot deny the people of Scotland a 2nd referendum where the majority are calling for it."Kezia Dugdale
I word for no campaigners in Scotland. You’re wasting precious time arguing about mandates. Last referendum won by persuading centre left voters 1) EU membership only safe in UK 2) A progressive Labour gov was on the horizon 3) Currency and Economic security.
Reasons 1 and 2 have melted away and the Yes movement have been working on 3 since 2014. You need a new argument for the union which isn’t rooted in Queen and country unionism.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
You know if - just "if" mind - the UK does forge ahead after Brexit and sees growth of say double or even more than the EU how do you think Scots will feel about independence then?
Especially if Scotland sees that growth too.
Do you still think that a majority of Scots will want to become an EU member?0 -
Whether someone believes in independence or not the SNP have just won an election in Scotland on the basis of having another indyref.
As Jackson Carlaw stated- the union was on the ballot paper on Thursday.
The union lost

Signed by a load of Unite members/officials. I wonder if Len approves! The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don't know anything about.

If we see huge growth (again I'll ask that pesky question "how?"), then it'll probably put off enough people to ensure a No result again.
If we start to see some tangible benefit from that growth (i.e. all the money isn't being spent in London), it'll put off more voters.
If we get treated like a partner in the union rather than a colony, it'll kill it off completely.0 -
